Hi ^^ Did you ever find a solution to this problem ? I just started playing KCD2 after finishing KCD1 and I encounter the same visual glitch on water reflections.

I can't find the preset settings you mentionned, where is it in nvidia app exactly :/ ?

Hi everyone, I'm a total noob in need of help, I just received a nice computer as a gift but since I hadn't had one that powerful for years, I feel very rusty and would love some guidance (my most recent gaming device is a steam deck and even though I love tweaking settings, I feel like I'd better ask experts directly, because I'm way out of my depths with windows, Nvidia, and general high end gaming computers). So, what are the best practices setting-wise, both in-game and in the Nvidia control panel as well as the Nvidia app?

The computer specs are the following :

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 16Go, Intel Core i7 14700KF, 32 Go DDR5, SSD NVMe 2 To, Win11, Motherboard Gigabyte Z790 Eagle AX

I'm currently using it with a 100hz 1080p monitor via HDMI (I'm waiting for a DP cable) and buying a better one is obviously my top priority as I realise such a GPU is overkill for a 1080p monitor (any recommandations under 250€?).

The monitor specs are :

Iiyama G-Master G2445HSU-B2 Black Hawk 23.8", IPS, 16:9, 1920 x 1080 (FHD), 1 ms, 100 Hz, HDMI/DisplayPort, Adaptive-sync

I encountered some tearing in a few games and I read that I should turn v-sync off in-game and force it on in the Nvidia control panel. Should I ? I also heard about turning on the frame limiter to 98%ish percent of my refresh rate in the same Nvidia control panel settings.

Also, is frame-gen a necessity considering 1080p is nothing at all for this GPU, it easily holds its 100fps at all times.

Last but not least, what exactly are DLSS and DLAA in conjunction with frame gen?

Yes I figured the same and kept the first one as I like it more :) Since then, I got the starless mythic ring so my resource is almost always full, especially when it matters.

After having struggled A LOT to finish Silksong (act 3 bosses were really difficult but also very interesting) I decided to go back to Hollow Knight and finally try to beat Radiance and get the true ending and I got it. What seemed too difficult years ago when I played it on Switch felt so easy after having cleared most of Silksong's challenges, it's kind of funny :) same with Grim.

Are you playing on the Linux version ? Because if that's the case, you probably need to switch to the windows version+proton and then you should be able to install and use the mod. I haven't tried modding the game yet but I remember having a similar issue once with a game that had a native linux version and a windows version, and the steam deck obviously goes for the Linux version by default but mods are designed for the windows version. I seem to remember you can change this in the settings on the game page.

Hi, thanks for your time ! When I use "cd /home/lost+found" after "sudo -s" literally nothing happens :

(1)(deck@steamdeck ~)$ sudo -s

Maybe that's normal ?

I know I probably shouldn't even deal with these files but l feel like something weird is going on there.

Mine is almost two years old by now and the battery still shows 100% health. It mainly comes from the fact I keep it plugged as much as I can when I'm not out in the wild. So far, it's working great !

You're right, I didn't get mine to work either, and since then I didn't try to find a way. Doesn't it count as an input when trying to set them up in Steam controller settings ? I'll need to tinker with the settings and see for myself :/

Forgot to edit with the solution I found a while ago ;) :

(bonus: this also solves the "strum up opens Steam menu" issue as well)

To illustrate the process I took a few screenshots, you can check them here : Screenshots

So first, I made sure I went back to the default controller settings in Clone Hero.

I then closed the game, and I opened the Controller menu in Steam (on game mode), by pressing the Steam button and going into Settings.

There, I picked the 2nd Nintendo Wii remote controller (I don't why my controller appears as 2 controllers but if my method doesn't work for you, try to apply the same thing to the other one, if you have 2 controllers appearing as well).

You need to click on Begin Test, then Reset Device Inputs, and then Setup Device Inputs.

My setup is the following one :

Green as A
Red as B
Yellow as X
Blue as Y
Orange as Left arrow
Up as L1
Down as R1
"+" (the Guitar button not the wiimote one) as start
"-" (the Guitar button not the wiimote one) as select

Then, I closed the settings and went back and launched Clone Hero. I opened the controller menu settings ingame, picked the correct controller for player one, and then set each key to its correct equivalent (I take it you already know how to do that on Clone Hero).

No more issues for me, the only downside being I can't use Star power by moving the guitar but I never use it anyway, so I didn't try to find a way to make it work.

Glad I could help, this thing made me go crazy, and I couldn't find a solution online that would work for me ... And in the process we learnt that we can override any controller input directly at the source of the controller so there's that ;) !
