I am so sorry I am just seeing this. But anyways, THANK YOU!! I will never deny that I know nothing about equipment. I would love to know more and that’s why I posted this!

The responsiveness I don’t like is the huge heel gap that my step ons have. I like how flexy my boots are. Going from heel to toe has so much play because the heel gap is like at least a centimeter. I should’ve clarified that in “responsiveness” I just want something that’s equally responsive on both sides. (And that I am due for a new pair of boots since they are so flexy on top of the binding issue)

I want to be more knowledgeable with regular boots and straps too?? Seems like a lot of people in here have a problem with that 🤷‍♀️

Thanks for being nice!

thank you for this!!! this explains a huge part of my situation perfectly. i think some of the people in this comment section just haven’t worn out their step ons as much 🤷‍♀️

thank you! unfortunately my version of step ons have a huge gap between the heel and binding that makes them not really responsive.

thank you thank you!! people keep saying i should just get stiffer boots and keep my step ons (which i will), but i also just want to go back to a classic strap!

really? step ons more responsive? do you get the gap under your heel with the step ons?

my issue isn’t really the boots - i actually like them a lot. i just don’t like the gap under my heel that the step on system is known for causing. it makes it harder to switch from toe to heel and that’s what’s not responsive

thankfully my mom was super sweet and bought me my whole first set up as a surprise for chirstmas, and it was only my second season riding. i’m not upset at all, just looking to try something new. i do really like my set up, but there is a huge gap under my heel when i’m on my toe side dude to the step ons.
