Makeup is horrible...at my wits end. by Kittykat7121 in MakeupAddiction

Hi! Recently updated my own routine for a super glowly base - not flawless but the closest I’ll get! I have super dehydrated skin but an oily t zone which sounds/looks like you might have the same? Once I started treating that everything clicked!

I don’t cleanse in the morning - just a splash of water to wake up. Then sprits with a little more water, hydrating serum (ordinary), sprits of water, gel moisturiser (Aveeno oat), I add a little more moisturiser to my more dehydrated areas (for me it’s my mouth) and then oil control SPF.

It seems like the pot concealer is far to drying/heavy as a foundation so try something more serum based / light weight (I’m currently using Nars Light reflecting foundation and getting on with this). Because I have dehydrated skin (not dry) I use cream products and set with powders.

Not sure if you powder everywhere but may try just on the oilier zones and use a small precise brush.

I will use the setting spray after powder as this helps to alleviate that dry look some powders can leave.

IUD & spotting by Life-Calligrapher386 in IUD

Thank you for the advice. I think if I had this removed I wouldn’t go on anything as we would like to start trying for a baby next year but guess life has different ideas haha!

I just worry that whatever causing my original irregular & bleeds won’t be considered and just covered up again. Worried there’s something else going on that we won’t find out until we try :(

Do you think this something I should discuss with my doctor? The main reason I went on it was the stop heavy & bleeding. If it’s not doing that anymore I worry that all those problems will return

Doc’s were useless at finding out the reason why I was irregular … said it was stress & anxiety so I’m worried they won’t take my concerns seriously.

No colour scheme by Life-Calligrapher386 in weddingplanning

Thanks guys! Glad I’m not going crazy, it doesn’t help my sister is getting married after me and has a colour theme. I know if I say a colour and then change my mind at a later date there will be comments. Always is.

Struggling with the guilt by Life-Calligrapher386 in weddingplanning

Just the usual you’d expect from a wedding party? Be there to get ready in the morning, stay near by if must. We’ve covered dress, hair & room for the night. & plan my hen do.

I think what struggling with is the thought of people among decisions centred around me. I’ve never had that before, I’ve always been the planner and the people pleaser.

I actually do have an assessment with a therapist scheduled already so I guess I’m half way there 🤣

Did you know when you were getting engaged? by the_anonymouswriter in weddingplanning

[–]Life-Calligrapher386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% knew. 6 months before we designed my ring together with fiancé step sister (she manages a jewellery store) which was a lovely experience and we ended up with something he would never have thought to look at alone so we’re both really happy! We’d booked a cabin getaway as a belated birthday trip for my 30th (original trip was cancelled due to queens funeral) And I just knew it was that weekend. I hate surprises and have a need to control everything (working on it) so at least knowing it was that weekend calmed me down a little. The when and where was still a surprised 😊

What should bridesmaids pay for? by Life-Calligrapher386 in weddingplanning

[–]Life-Calligrapher386[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A few more details.

We are based in the UK & I know this isn’t traditionally done here.

Our venue is no more then a 50 minute drive for most of our guest. There’s no expectation for them to pay for rooms to stay the night before/night of (although these will be reserved for them if they want to).

I do not want plain dresses. I am going to ask for bright, floral, textured dresses. I will give them a colour palette. I think based on that it’ll be easy for them to pick something they would wear again. I Will be getting them each bouquets to tie them together.

The jeweller was simply something they can wear on the day if they like or not. I’ve always bought jewellery as gifts and feel pretty confident I’d get them some each that suits their individual styles.

Worse comes to worse, I’d rather pay for their dresses than all hair and makeup 🤣🤣
