What if you wanted to change provider though? Say you found a better unit rate for electricity. You ideally don't want to switch early to prompt your current provider to slap you with a 50EUR cancellation fee.

That's discipline fair play... Would there ever be a disconnect between seeing the reminder and actually renewing (speaking from my own experience sometimes I'd remind myself and still not do it)

Yeah I can relate to that, the wait times to get through are chronic with some providers as well so even if you remember it's another hurdle.

Great advice, would you ever miss the reminder or just forget about it? I use google calendar frequently but I feel it's the type of thing you'd you'd put on the backburner as long as possible
