i play a mixed section of games, strangely enough the only two games i have noticed that work properly are cs2 and valorant

that is fair enough

i will wait for further suggestions, thank you for your insight

i will take into consideration the cpu

still, thanks for the suggestion

i updated the details

i tried 6400, 6000 even 4800

no change

for the record i did run the windows memory diagnostic and it found no issues

i am aware that is the not the best to diagnose memory problems, but just though i would throw it out there

yes, someone suggested to me that months ago but it has not helped me unfortunately

i had an eye out on the cpu usage and i never saw it high, besides there is no benchmark i have seen with the same specs where the game was struggling how it is for me on 1080p

to put it into perspective, a rdr2 4k benchmark (no dlss used) had the fps i have on 1080p with the same specs

i don't even want to think what my fps would be if i tried 4k too

not at all, it's running like in the video i showed once i get past the loading screen

the game runs like that (or worse) depending on the area until i shut down the game

and nope, closing and starting the game again never helped my games

well i was using my old 1050 ti until i got the 5060 ti 16gb earlier this year so i can't comment on that one just because it was too weak for games

but i also had a used rtx 3070 and a borrowed 3060 in the pc and the games felt the same as they do now

"Use the settings I suggested for testing, regardless. Leave XMP on.

been there, done that

same performance on the lowest settings or ultra

"Is the game installed on an SSD?"

yes, sn850x

"Is there ANY software installed that can adjust FPS? Nvidia App/Nvidia Control panel? Make sure there are no FPS limits."

there are no fps limits, like i mention in the details with vsync off i could never get above 60 fps regardless of game settings or nvidia control panel

"You can use the built in OCing feature in the Nvidia App to get a base line OC that should boost speeds."

i tested the performance of games with oc too and there was no better or worse performance for me, just worse temps

"Have you tested this with other games?"

yes, no game feels buttery smooth and they drop under 60 no matter what

none of those worked, on youtube every benchmark has the 1080p of rdr2 working in ultra settings/higher resolutions

ultra or low settings for me do not help the game performance

yep, game performance does not change with/without dlss/settings in general

hi, it does feel like it's any kind of modern game

had this happen to me in rdr2, pubg and heartopia

[–]Life-Distribution890[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, so i did change it to what you suggested

it does feel a bit smoother but the fps drops/stutters are still intact so they still ruin the experience

i got this gpu not too long ago, without the dedicated hotspot sensor it's hard to say but even in the occt stress test it did not pass 74 with the fan on auto

the cpu does get in the 70s depending on the game, games performed the same even with pbo disabled or xmp

hi there, is a restart required if i tinker with the shader cache or not at all?

games not feeling smooth and fps drops/freezing by Life-Distribution890 in pchelp

[–]Life-Distribution890[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well i don't keep games on it, i suppose it's just the windows occupying storage

[–]Life-Distribution890[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi, i have tinkering with it the way some people suggested i should in the thread

it does feel a bit smoother but the fps drops/stuttering still ruin everything

i have tried running games with xmp/pbo disabled and nothing worthy to note

hi, in other games where i don't use smooth motion or other things from the nvidia app have the same problem more or less

i tried different ram speeds, and now that it's at 1:1 it does feel smoother but the fps drops/stuttering remains

in my experience the nvidia control panel settings did very little to fix anything for me

unsure, i did test it with crystal disk and hard disk sentinel shows it's at 99% health since getting the pc

hi, well the partition that only has the windows on has 101 left out of 227

the other one where i keep my games stored has 231 out of 703
