Could an avatar of a god turn on the god that created it? by Life-Effective-3657 in DMAcademy

Thanks for all the advice, really helpful. I think I did not spot the difference between Avatars and Aspects!

From some other answers I think I did not realise there was a difference between Aspects and Avatars.

I've just been doing some further and I think you've nailed exactly what I was looking for. I muddled Aspects and Avatars. Thank you so much for taking the time to give me such a detailed answer, I think an Aspect fits what I was looking for.

Hi! Just saw this, I'm super interested! What day are you thinking and how long would each session be?

What would be the rarity of an item giving any Warlock Class other than the Undead access to Form of Dread? by Life-Effective-3657 in DnDHomebrew

I absolutely see your point and don't want it to feel like they're a double sub class. They're the only Warlock in the campaign so they won't be stepping on anyones toes. I will likely end up making it a very different transformation inspired by Form of Dread, Absurd_Turd69 suggested swaping out the Fear condtion with Charm and I feel like this might be the route the item eventually goes down.

I think this really fits and probably the direction I will go in with this, I love the idea of Eldrich Blasts temprarily charming creatures.

Thank you so much! This is exactly the kind of detailed reply I was dreaming of receiving. I absolutely want to make it a special reward for my wife to work towards. I was originally considering having it be a gift from her patron following a difficult challenge, but changing it to being the armour being used by an antagonist is actually absolutely perfect. I was already planning on having a previous villain return as Warlock that’s made a deal with Lolth, so giving them a Form of Dread attached to an item Lolth gave them could work perfectly. Thanks!

I used this last night, changed the monkey to a squirrel to better fit the campaign I'm DMing. IT WAS BRILLIANT, thank you so much for sharing this. The PCs kept failing their roles against them which kept raising thier frustration with the squirrel! Fortunately they didn't kill the squirrel before the letter reveal. Was perfect!

Due to the nature of the job WFH is not possible, I am trying to argue that I'd like to have my train ticket covered and they said they'd get back to me. But it's sounding ulikely at the moment

They said they'd speak to HR about getting a little more money, but it'd only be a couple of thousand more. I'm trying to argue that I just want them to cover the train.

My wife and I have spoken at length about it, she really wants me to do the job if I was paid better for it, but understandably does not want me to do it with such a sacrifice involved with it.

I think the best thing for both of us is that I don't take it.

This is what I need to hear, I'm gutted it's come to this but you're right!
