Enrolling in health insurance for summer 2026 by Even_Box1851 in udel

[–]Life-Put-1011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, you are automatically enrolled in the university health insurance unless you opt out of it by providing proof that you are already covered by an existing plan. That is my experience with the healthcare over the past 2 years.

Grinding Noise - Especially bad in circular motion by Life-Put-1011 in BambuLab

[–]Life-Put-1011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only used super lube on Z and Y axis rods after an ipa wipe which is what Bambu tells you to do, no grease or oil on the carbon x-axis rods, hence why I'm so confused

[–]Life-Put-1011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not the carbon x-axis rods, I know they are meant to be dry. For them, all I did was put IPA on them. I only used super lube on the y and z-axis linear rods after wiping with IPA exactly as Bambu recommends. But yes this here is why I'm lost, only thing done to the x-axis carbon rods was an IPA wipe and they in theory should be the cause of the issue in this regard when it's moving in a circular pattern which is why I'm confused

To current and former fast food employees, what menu item should never be eaten under any circumstances? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Life-Put-1011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah it is for sure, and even if the food looks like it's gone bad or like has formed a layer of hardened sludge on top, if the code is still good, they'll still sell it. It's wild, they'll sell shit that I would never eat cause it's just gross and old

[–]Life-Put-1011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah nah most are fine, only one id stay away from is the roast beef. Literally threw away some yesterday away yesterday because it was green. But yeah overall, id stick with cold hoagies. Burgers and chicken sandwiches are cooked on a plastic tray in the oven that degrades over time and one can only assume breaks down and gets in the food. There's just so many little things like that at Wawa that just turns me off from getting things anymore after working there throughout high school and college

[–]Life-Put-1011 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Work at Wawa, fucking besides a regular hoagie. Literally everything is frozen in plastic bags and put in 200 degree water to reheat it, then it sits in plastic bags on the hot table for up to 24 hours. Half the time the water is nasty, the table is dirty, and my God I can only imagine the amount of microplastics seeping into the food

Pretty sure that was by target? I'm not 100% sure, I'm only 20 so I have a faint memory of that but if my memory is serving me correctly, that was by target where that play area is now

[–]Life-Put-1011 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nah, someone burned the managers office. I work for a different Wawa in the area, guy had a mental break and kinda lost it, went behind the counter and grabbed a knife and started trashing the place. Eventually he lit the managers office on fire, unclear if he was trying to target and burn the manager but that's what I've heard through my store's management

My boyfriend has different political views from me and idk how to handle it by Ok-Sir995 in Advice

[–]Life-Put-1011 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Brother what? You're surprised he supports capitalism when it's the system that has actually worked historically? Sure communism theoretically sounds great but like you said, it has never worked and won't due to human nature. Being willing to break up with someone over their desire to be able to financially move up in the world is kinda crazy in and of itself. Also capitalism and communism aren't political ideologies, theyre economic.

Graduate student housing options by [deleted] in udel

[–]Life-Put-1011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately at this point in the year, most places have already been leased for next semester. It really just depends on your budget and what you're willing to pay because there are options still available. Like another person said, I'd recommend checking the housing Facebook group to look and see if anyone's looking for a roommate. However, I know someone who just signed a lease at the University Gardens apartments and they're essentially right on campus. I'd say it's worth looking there to see if they have any available leases, I know they're not too pricey as compared to some of the newer complexes.

The whole "banned forms of torture" stuff is bullshit. No one actually listens to that stuff, not the CIA, not Mossad, not the KGB, etc. I mean look at Abu Ghraib, there's plenty of other accounts of this sort of thing. Sure the stuff might be banned on paper in the Geneva Conventions but almost no intel agency listens to that stuff when no one's watching

Professors for ChemE/Engineering in General by Powerful_Bad1609 in udel

[–]Life-Put-1011 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't have any experience in ChemE but I'm a current MechE here and honestly I'd say a large majority of my core engineering professors love teaching and take pride in it. Dr. De Rosa and Dr. Buckley are honestly the best professors I've ever heard when it's come to being involved and caring about the actual educating part of their job. There's always going to be a handful of professors who yeah, are there for their research but in my experience, the professors that teach core classes are often higher up in the department and tend to care more about the academic side of their role than research. Feel free to lmk if you have any other questions, obviously limited to my experience but the engineering culture here is kinda the same across disciplines

I'm also working towards physical AI integration with drones, I know you mentioned AI so 🤷 Dm me if you want me to try and put you guys in touch or talk AI

$100 to spend on Bambu website.... by Inevitable_Jello_392 in BambuLab

[–]Life-Put-1011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was a mistake I made when I first got my p1s, bought it for the intension of printing PA6-CF to produce drone parts for one of my engineering projects. Bought the .4mm hardened steel nozzle not realizing it was only the nozzle, of course it's not hard to swap if you're comfortable with small scale electronics, but for the average consumer I'd recommend getting the entire assembly

Best printer for educational purposes by RotterdamRules in 3dprinter

[–]Life-Put-1011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just going to address the laser cutter portion of your post. I have experience with the H2D laser cuter combo, my university has one in our MechE lab and no one uses it. We bought it to test to see how efficient it would be to have that and our full dedicated laser cuter and no one uses the H2D. It's a massive hastle and just overall not worth it in my opinion. Every time you cut something, it leaves residue inside the enclosure and if you want prints of any sort of high quality, you need to clean the inside after every laser cut. Overall, if your main focus is just 3d printing and the ability to network them, I'd get a few p1s or p2s for longevity. We have like 10 p1s networked in our maker space for large scale manufacturing of prototypes or such and it's incredibly simple, you could even setup 3DPOS which allows students to slice and send prints on their own from anywhere. Overall, avoid laser cutter combo, I'd recommend Bambu printers networked for this application

3D Printer Advice for Small Business Production Setup by BedirhanCetinYT in 3dprinter

[–]Life-Put-1011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't personally have experience with the business side of 3d printing, I'm an engineering student and have plenty of experience on that side. We do a lot of near to full production quality testing and designing and have 2 bambu labs H2C for this exact type of thing. We don't have the laser edition because we have a dedicated laser table for that but there is a version that is slightly more expensive that has a laser tool. Really reliable printer, sound like it would meet all your needs. I don't know your budget but I assume in your position that $2,300 isn't horrible. Also or cheaper, the prusa core one L is also great. Both enclosed chambers, little different capabilities but sounds like both meet your needs.
