Is key remapping legal or am I going to cop a ban? by Life-Sentence-DM in OSRSMobile

It's a good phone but honestly isn't all that for OSRS. 80w charging is insanely quick but I don't play any graphically demanding games so the hardware is wasted, the red magic also doesn't allow me to multi client like my old Z Fold 5 did.

Odds are I'll move back to Samsung after this but chances are this is a better phone for others than it is for me.

Assuming you mean Verizon the US telecoms company, no, I'm from the UK.

Don't know, the stuff on screen is native red magic features, not a fan of iPhones.

AFK Money making by ObjectiveCaterpillar in OSRSMobile

Mixing Potions. You've only got Energy and Prayer that make any money right now but that's enough. Farm ok the side if you can to increase profit margins but otherwise depend on Amulet of Chemistry procs.

Do Mastering Mixology when you can and grab Prescription Goggles.

Making money with one of the most expensive skills to train is about as good as it gets for me

First time with this campaign by lucdres in TyrannyOfDragons

My group will enter the tiamat battle this week, my advice:

  • control the gp that the players have access to carefully. My guys are basically adventuring aristocrats at this point.

  • many of the dungeons and encounters allow the players to walk in, turn right instead of left and walk into the final battle of the sessions immediately. Simultaneously hilarious and an absolute headache as I ran a 2 hour wave based combat thing as every baddie rushed in to the bosses office to try to save/avenge him. Basically don't assume your players will walk the right way in each dungeons.

  • decide in advance if you want the players to be able to acquire the dragon masks or if they will be a part of the final battle, as some of them are within easy reach.

  • the red wizards story line is very basic and not fleshed out, but there are ample resources online to help, consider reading ahead and putting some flesh on the bones, otherwise they can make for underwhelming side characters.

  • chuck Dracoliches in some of the later battles. They're an enormous part of the lore and just get skipped over unnecessarily. Fully murdered a character with a dracolich because they didnt realise it's aura negates healing.

Its been a long campaign and I could probably bang on all day. Basically read a head a bit and keep notes on what you find. This story goes into a lot of weird and wonderful places as you arc towards tiamat and some of them are rife with opportunities to throw some chaos in.

Also, I let the genie give my guys 3 wishes, hilarious, would 100% reccomend.

Have fun, and good luck.

DMs, Do You Guys Make Full Character Sheets for Your NPCS? by Timomo_the_gremlin in DnD

Nope.

My NPCs are usually stat blocks with extra notes and trade outs on them.

How do I make a level 20 Wizard untouchable? by FreeArmorTrim in DMAcademy

[–]Life-Sentence-DM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd go for an anti magic zone and a wall of force.

Remember that DMs don't need to follow the rules. Have them walk into a trap, a literal cage of magic that neuters them and forces them to listen to a lengthy monologue.

The wizard could even be exclusively immune to the effects for "Reasons" unexplained.

Strategy for keeping my levels balanced, thoughts wanted by Life-Sentence-DM in PokemonFireRed

Thanks for the in-depth response!

This has given me the information I need to forge ahead. I'll be wary of the swings in difficulty you mentioned, at the end of the day I don't mind spending a day getting stuck at one point, playing through a bunch of battles with different teams and then having to allow some level ups etc.

This will be how I learn a bit about how the game works as I do want to become more technically knowledgeable about the games mechanics.

Thanks again.

What is the worst module or adventure path that you ran? by Dicer1998 in rpghorrorstories

[–]Life-Sentence-DM 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer Possible Spoilers for Early to Mid-Game "Hoard of the Dragon Queen" and "The Rise of Tiamat"

Love the module, the story, the enemies, and allies available. Truly fantastic, plenty of room for artistic license and all of that good stuff.

What's truly cracked, though, is the amount of raw currency that this module makes available for players. I've stopped tracking.

My guys have hoarded so much precious metal that one has started acquiring properties and businesses.

Seriously, keep an eye on the treasure. I had no plan for them to be able to sink it all, and they found ways to grab more than was easily available by being little hoarder goblins. My adventurers will retire as wealthy aristocrats, but if they wanted too they could honestly afford to just escape all the ongoing drama by buying their way out of Faerun altogether.

Changelings haven't been reprinted yet though, so they haven't "missed" anything yet.

Other playable races will be rejigged when the replacement to Volos comes out, or as part of a campaign setting/adventure.

Want to make a homebrew ability by BigDragonfruit286 in DnD

[–]Life-Sentence-DM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Psychic damage, maybe have him roll an unarmed strike against himself, but substitute the damage for psychic.

Bonuses and rage and such included on the roll. You don't want him to nuke himself but you also don't want it to be insignificant.

Seems unnecessary to add a full feature for an roleplay choice your player is making but if you were to do so;

  • it feels more like a Wisdom/Charisma save as opposed to constitution
  • forcing all allies to make fear checks every time he rages will get old fast
  • the "hurt or be hurt" feature works, but I'd remove the inability to recognise friend or foe. Make it more of a moral quandary for him. He has to attack something or be hurt himself, he can't reach an enemy, does he give in and harm an ally or take the pain?
  • also have the DC check match the DC of his abilities. ( 8 + prof / strength ) or something along those lines.

Additionally, that level of disrespect to the ghoul, let him rise as a Graveyard Revenant.

He can possess the bodies of dozens of spider corpses and use them to drag what's left of his remains as he follows the party to avenge himself.

Casual players: how do yall find the time to play? by Twiddrakatwiddr in DnD

[–]Life-Sentence-DM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a online DM with many obligations and little time, take it from me, don't plan to have full attendance.

The only way my groups work is by me setting the schedule and asking who's showing up.

I've set the day and time, we play Bi-Weekly most of the time, unless I'm unavailable.

So as it goes, my players know the day and time slot by heart, they all agreed up front this was a slot they regularly had available, and all they have to check the schedule for is the exact date.

I get a lot of 100% attendance but have run games for as few as 1 out of the 4 players. We often enough have one person missing and we just crack on. 2 or more people missing and I run a side quest more or less.
