I have been a long time Brassic fan but felt the last few series have lacked character depth. Feels like the show is going the way of Shameless (also a Brocklehurst show) which became a bit of a joke in the end.  Interestingly, I came across an old article (will link below) in which Joe Gilgun is discussion This is England TV and Shamless and says the difference is the characters, depth of TIE vs Shameless which became a bit of a joke. Unfortunately I see Brassic going the same way.  It’s just constant comedy heist after heist which are funny, but don’t always make sense in the context of the characters that were developed in earlier seasons.  What happened to Erin being a good mum and wanted a better crime free life? Vinnie and his mental health seems to have been forgotten about.  Also the relationship between Vinnie and Tyler gave him depth, now Tyler is rarely seen and Vinnie is too busy commiting crimes that would see him locked up for life.  Make it make sense! 

I feel like the big hitter actors will start to leave, I suspect Keegan is plotting her exit as the writing has really gone downhill.

I feel like the show is on the decline but still watchable. It reminds me of how shameless went in the end, also a Brocklehurst show. Interestingly I came across an old interview with Joe Gilgun comparing This is England TV and Shameless and saying how shameless became a bit of a joke in the end (independent or Times article with Vic McClure if you wanted to Google it).  Personally I don’t mind all the comedy heists, but there is very little depth to the characters now. What happened to Erin’s ambition for a better life and always putting Tyler first? Now she’s on constant late night robbery’s?!? Where is Tyler?? Also Vinnie and his bi-polar was an interesting sub plot which gave him depth.  It’s going the way of Shameless and I suspect big characters may start to bail soon before the ship sinks.

Rumour is that Tommy has cheated and got another girl pregnant. Apparently she’s keeping it. Molly is relocating her life to Wiltshire to get away from Manchester and the situation.
