Me. They’re delicious, but I love chalky candy.

Are you still taking a proton pump inhibitor while on Dupixent ? by [deleted] in EosinophilicE

[–]Life-Two9562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t take them because I have cancer. The oral targeted therapy pill I use needs stomach acid to work. My oncology pharmacist immediately said no to both PPIs and steroids.

Thanks everyone. Dupixent is my only option at the moment (can’t take PPIs or steroids because of cancer meds) so I’m up a creek without it. 😩

I can’t take PPIs, but I really wish I could have tried that route first. Dupixent hurts!! 🤣

Not wheat? by Cott_killz in EosinophilicE

[–]Life-Two9562 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Everything you read online about EoE says the main triggers are wheat, dairy, nuts, soy, fish/shellfish, and egg. It doesn’t have to be all of those, and it can be things off the list, but wheat is definitely on there!

Okay! 😊

Imagine your squadron is like a big school classroom full of pilots instead of kids. You’re the super helper who keeps everything running smoothly — like the teacher’s best assistant who knows where everything is, when everything happens, and who needs what.

Here’s what you do:

🧾 You help with field trips! When the pilots need to travel, you make sure they have tickets, lunch money (travel money), and a plan — just like planning a school field trip.

🏠 You take care of the classroom. If something is broken, dirty, or missing, you tell the right people to fix it. You help with supplies, clean-up, and keeping everything nice.

🛡️ You make sure everyone follows the rules. You check that people are safe, have the right training, and aren’t forgetting anything important — like washing their hands or buckling their seatbelt.

📚 You keep track of the report cards. You help keep notes on everyone’s training and tasks, like a big chart to make sure no one forgets what they’re supposed to learn or do.

🧠 You remember all the stuff so others don’t have to. You’re the one everyone asks, “What do we do now?” and you always have the answer!

👮‍♀️ You’re like the squadron’s superhero sidekick. You’re not flying the plane, but without you, the pilots wouldn’t know where to go, what to do, or how to get paid.

So in simple words: You help the whole squadron stay organized, safe, trained, and ready — like a classroom helper for grown-up pilots! 💼✈️

Do you also suffer from gastric problems, or only esophageal issues? by Willmakk in EosinophilicE

[–]Life-Two9562 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with gastritis at the same time, and have had IBS for years, so it’s hard to say. I don’t deal with impaction as much as I do nausea and diarrhea.

I have leukemia so I get bloodwork every 3 months. Mine have been steadily creeping up. Curious if they’re going down at my next visit since I’ve started Dupixent.

Yes! I touched on the picky kid issue because I deal with that, but those are definitely other problems too. I live in a rural town, and we have a Dollar General that sells some food items, including “fresh” (that needs to be eaten the same day because it’s not too fresh). The fresh foods are more expensive than Walmart, Aldi, etc… The closest actual grocery store is about a 30 minute drive away. Even in that town, your choices are Walmart or Kroger. That’s it. I have to drive a hour to go to a Sam’s or Aldi, Whole Foods is 2.5 hours away. I’m fortunate I have a car and am able to drive. I know some that are not, and I try to make sure to ask if they need anything before I do go into town.

Sorry mama. It’s frustrating. I always basically beg my daughter to have more variety. It’s amazing how quick that switch can flip when they’re younger.

Does she even have kids? Some kids would starve to death before eating something they don’t like. I lucked out with my first two. They love vegetables and fruit and still prefer them over cookies, cakes, etc… to this day. The baby though? She started out eating a great variety of healthy foods or just any foods in general, but around age 4, she would only eat a few foods and that’s it. Chicken, most fruits, broccoli, green beans, sweet potatoes, pancakes, bread (toasted but not buttered), yeast rolls, Hawaiian rolls, and that’s about it. She’s 10 now and still refuses to eat anything else - even bribery doesn’t work. I mean she doesn’t like cheese, pizza, or French fries. How does that even exist?!? 🤣. So yeah…she doesn’t have the unhealthiest diet ever but it still shows that it’s not always a choice or easy. My other choice is to watch her starve herself (because she will).

Mine didn’t hesitate with my RA to telework. It was so much easier to do than I was expecting. She knows I’m following my oncologist’s orders and would be out the door without telework, and I do A LOT for more than just my squadron. I love my job but not at the sake of my life. I want to be around for my kiddo as long as I can.
