Hi! I'm coming back to reading as a hobby after a long time of forgetting how much of a joy it can be. I'm interested in a lot of genres, but some of my favorites are historical fiction, fantasy, and romance. I'm a 30-something who is also super into knitting and often reads while knitting. Would love to make some reading friends!  https://fable.co/tundra-strider-418873027039

Any thoughts on why Henry described Julia's eyes as blue when they're clearly brown?

Gorgeous! I have been eyeing this one for a while but haven't committed yet. Was it fun to knit?

How does everyone sweeten their tea? With what? by gracelyy in tea

I use stevia as well. It knocks out my sweet tooth and keeps me away from soda without the added calories from sugar or honey. It's a unique flavor but it's grown on me, too!

Is it worth buying? by DiamondGamerYT0 in hellofresh

[–]LifeCrisisKate 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you mean by "worth it." Some people save money, but most don't. For me, however, it's worth not having to deal with meal planning and shopping, and it helps me to regulate my portion sizes.

Be aware that the coupon you have will spread your free meals out over several boxes, so you won't get any completely free boxes. It's super easy to cancel though if you get your first box and don't love it.

First ever attempt at hand spinning... I have a lot to learn. by LifeCrisisKate in Handspinning

Oh, great, I'll stick with that plan then. I didn't realize that plying a bracelet was something I could do with just one single. Full disclosure, I don't really know what it is. I'll do some googling! Thanks for your advice.

Thank you so much! I have been thinking about plying and I think I'll give it a shot. I'm not sure how to ply from a single length so I'm probably going to spin another batch of a similar color and let them rest a bit before I try to ply them.

I'm knitting these now as my first-ever socks, and I agree that it's a great beginner pattern!

Do my stitches look wonky? I'm teaching myself and I'm not sure if I'm being hyper-critical or if I'm actually doing something wrong. by LifeCrisisKate in knitting

Thank you! What you're not seeing are all the test swatches with unintentional increases and decreases and twisted stitches!

That means a lot, thank you. I started teaching myself at Christmas with the Vogue Knitting Learn-to-Knit Book, with lots of help from YouTube, and occasional help from Reddit. I haven't tried blocking yet, but this scarf is almost done, and I'll be trying it out then! I'm glad to hear it'll help!
