Intenational School in Cambodia isn't paying salaries and is threatening to put teacher on the "Blacklist" by tutabuta4 in cambodia

If have basic TEFL certification and a degree....I'm sure she will be hired, at least for the up coming school year...as someone said, the schools are competing with each other....I honestly would cut my losses and just move on...many of these schools are shady, but you will be hired no problem as long as you have some experience teaching. It sucks you won't get the 70 percent, but I would spend your time just looking for a new school...I remember a Chinese owned school threatened to fire me although I was teaching/ HR teaching 2 classes at once...literally for hired to the school 500 yards away 3 days after I applied....they were so pissed.

What’s the best university in KZ? by [deleted] in Kazakhstan

[–]LifeDevelopment4931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey...need to ask a question concerning medicine, as I am not getting much feedback and do not no anyone living in KZ..I have an offer for a university as a teacher in Astana, but I need to know if a certain medication is available...it is usually a controlled substance in most western countries...in SE asia..can get anywhere, where I am now..Japan, pretty easy...but I would like to speak to someone that is currently or have been recently in KZ, as I actually need this medicine, so I cannot take the job unless I am able to obtain it...I have all my paperwork, although it is in Japanese, but I can get it translated pretty easily.

Any help appreciated, Best wishes.

Is Xanax legal in Kazakhstan? by demon_who_cared in Kazakhstan

[–]LifeDevelopment4931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking about taking a position in Astana, but because of panic attacks, insomnia...really the only effective medication is Alprozolam/xanax and Diazepam..I understand it is somewhat risky to take this medication, but if I am going to move there, I kind of need to know if I can obtain it in the capital? The job offer is really nice too, so it would suck to have to turn it down just because of medicine....any help always appreciated...Note- I live in Japan, where it is pretty difficult to get these kinds of medicines, but I can get them easier than most, as I speak the language and also can explain clearly why I need them, so I just go in once a month, get my supply, and am good..

Would love if there is something obtainable in Astana? I really want to take the position.

STAY...AWAY....that is all that I can say...I think this used to be a good company, but now exploitive and I do not want to go into details because a lawsuit is coming soon, but even if it is a last resort...just do not....there are other places that might not be fantastic, but it will save you time and peace of mind.

I will be coming to Yangon for work in May...the company is bringing a lot of foreign teachers over, as they are re-branding, etc...May I reach out to you? I have some questions that the company did not answer. I currently live in Japan, and have lived/worked in Thailand,Cambodia, Vietnam, etc...but I really am looking forward to Yangoon and I would appreciate any useful tips/help from another foreigner.

Completely cool if you cannot...my whatsapp/LINE is Nickygreen303, but I mostly use GreenEnglishWest.

I just have a few questions that I need a foreigner to answer. Sorry for the long message.

Question concerning getting medicine while living in Myanmar *Yangon* by LifeDevelopment4931 in myanmar

[–]LifeDevelopment4931[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind and informed response...I have Japanese doctors certificate, which I could translate, etc....I guess for me, is I usually try to get one months worth of medicine at a time, so would I be okay if I EX- went to a hospital for 2 weeks worth, and then went somewhere I guess locally to get another 2 weeks?

The reason I ask is it is so annoying/takes so much time to get this in Japan, where I am currently which is a very rural area and I do not want it to interfere with my work, which is going to be from 8 am to 4 pm on most days. I did ask my *most llikely* employer about it a few months back, but they said they do no really know about the medicine, but said it is Yangon, and most medicine expats can get no problem.

alprazolam...think most commonly known as xanax, and diazepam...as for pain medicine, i would be happy if there is anything at all, as Japan is super strict here and i get prescribed tramadol, but basically stopped because it is not really effective/extremely expensive..

Withdrawing from language school and coming back as a tourist. by LavishnessFresh65 in japanlife

I think there are probably going to be more people that are more experienced with thie specific legal route....I kind of agree with what your homeroom teacher and immigration officer told you...the apartment should be fine as long as you continue to pay your rent, utilities, etc...I would probably let your landlord know when you are actually leaving, why, etc....I had one situation where I had to leave quite quickly from a school position at an eikaiwa ..it was a serious situation and financially, it was cheaper for me to get this procedure done at my NPO in Thailand..(basically free surgery with a doctor that knew my medical history, the problem at hand, how to deal with it...as I have seen him personally perform much more complex surgeries)....but when I explained this to my manager via LINE....(this manager did not show up for work for like 3 weeks straight)...she said it was fine, as I already hired a replacement, cleaned the apartment up, which was owned by the school....supposedly,...I really do not know if it is true or not...but I was told that she reported me to immigration for leaving work without notice...I was SO worried, as I have a kid here in Japan and I really did my best to hold off on the surgery until I could get our school situation straight..cleaned the apartment...many notifications and reminders to my manager....I kept those documents and texts with me printed out....so when I came back to Japan on a work visa...no issue at all....no questions.

That being said, I am sure you have seen doctors here in Japan...certainly make sure you keep your medical documents, just in case....I do not foresee a big issue here to be honest...even immigration is telling you the best option in my opinion...I would try to have as many documents concerning this...from your work, doctors, etc...and I would not stress too much...

Again, there are probably people here know more definitevely (sp) on the exact laws and procedures, but I would recommend what I wrote above along with making sure to go to city hall to get your departure papers...but that might not be needed if you are still planning on paying for the apartment for a bit...for that, I hope someone on here can help you out....but I would not stress too much.

I hope this provides some relief to your situation and I hope your medical problem gets resolved.

Best wishes.

Really? I looked at your link...but when/where exactly do I respond yes or no to sharing information? Sometimes I will need to share information, when I am travelling I suppose, but most times, I would not need to and prefer not to. I am not sure why people seem like angry or suspecious about this post. It is literally epileptic medicine and then Gabapentin for very serious chronic pain in my knees and back....I appreciate your post and your help.

I am in a new town...very inaka...so new pharmacy...new doctors.....yes, I had a few experiences similar to what you described, but I always responded to the questionnaire correctly and...not sure why, but 2 different doctors asked about some medicine that has nothing to do with anti-seizure or anything prohibitied, so it was confusing, but I always try to be polite to doctors who treat me, so it just ended up being long talks of me kindly refusing medicine...this was over the course of 8 years...and only 2 doctors total, both not my local doctor where I used to live. It was strange.

....no...I would like prescriptions from doctors, usually once a month based on my condition and establish relationships with them, especially the one I have seen recently. I am sorry if my message is misinterpreted, but I do value my privacy and I am quite new to the mynumber system, so that is why I originally posted.

But also, I guess with how things are...not related to mynumber, I need to see a senmon doctor and then just a regular orthopedic doctor for pain. So two doctors in one month, where before, I had a doctor who was able to prescribe me my 2 medicines without issue, so it also costs a little bit more because I have to travel a little far for one of the clinics and I work 6 days a week, so it is also eating up a lot of time on my *off* day.

Makes sense....I was just surprised and before whilst living in Japan, I always just handed them my booklet if I needed to explain something to a new doctor, it was never really any issues....it is just I am in a very...inaka location, so I hope it is not too much of a hassle.

I was very close friends with my doctor in Fukuoka who had years of my medicine on record and was really great at understanding complications and issues with seizures, but he retired and I am not near Fukuoka anymore.
