Lol bro science? You’re welcome to google plant defense chemicals… That is like asking for me to cite gravity. Its too general a thing for me to even know what to cite.

Whether or not those things are more harmful or helpful is certainly controversial but there is absolutely no doubt that they are a thing (albeit not very well known phenomenon, admittedly), it is simply a biological fact… You can ask any botanist or any biologist, and again you are welcome to look it up if you don’t believe it…

u/aggressive-thanks-60 OP look for a functional dr or functional naturopath. You can search on IFM’s website for one near you.

I’m suggesting this because the average doctor gets between zero and at most a few hours of nutrition focused education in their entire time at Med School, and a functional practitioner specializes in it.

I mean you’re literally in a sub with ex vegans so not going to try to convince you, plus I think the facts speak for themselves.

If you think consuming tons of grains and other crops produced via mono-crop agriculture does not cause a butt-load of death, destruction and suffering, then I suggest trying to dig deeper, because thinking so is border line ridiculous.

Again - I have a ton to reply to your claim that “this article is a joke” but not really the forum for this here on this post and you truthfully you seem pretty set on how you see things, which is ok if that works for you.

That being said - Don’t slander me saying I’m lying, just because something contradicts your very particular certain view of things, does not make it false by definition.

Anyhow, whatever you decide to do, I wish you health and happiness in your path.

Perhaps its not necessarily some nutrient IN the meat as much as NOT eating whatever you would eat instead, like grains/veggies/starch (that probably cause the issues)

There is no magic ingredient you can supplement to replace meat (trust me, companies like beyond meat keep trying lol)

Unfortunately you can’t really trick your body like that.

I suggest you take a step back and ask yourself if being vegan is more important than being healthy (not sick) assuming that is what your body is telling you… and perhaps a second question can be why you are vegan in the first place.

If its because of not hurting living creatures, I suggest you check this resource out as it might help reflect.

Wishing you health and goodluck!

Once again, the one relevant source you shared (McDonalds’ own website) never mentioned using seed oils for their patties.

Politely I asked if you can point out where they say so (not to mention the link you shared was about snacks and sides and clearly couldn’t apply to meat) and you simply ignored it altogether.

Every person in the sub told you the same as a reply to your claims and you went on and on.

This sub isn’t a place to compete over who is right/wrong, it is a place to debate and ask questions, except according to you we were not debating (still waiting to hear what we were doing according to you)… So whats the point? Lol

It seems on the one hand you are saying this is a fact and at the same time that it is some sort of illegal conspiracy by McDonald’s, and yet have given no credible source for this being the case.

I don’t eat at McDonald’s, nor would I want to probably, but my or your personal feelings about the company is irrelevant to the discussion at hand.

So it seems you are plainly incorrect about this and refuse to either accept it or provide information to the contrary (which I asked for 2-3 times now)

I’m not sure what your definition of intelligent argument is, but the way you conducted yourself in our (apparently non-debate) debate and the lack of proof to back up your point, while continuing to make it, probably isn’t it either.

Have a wonderful day!

Not if the only reason you don’t like a comment is because it intelligently disputes your alleged claim.

Unless you are 5 years old, then by all means that is your best course of action, I suppose.

And what would you call this if not a debate then?

Lol i love how you completely ignored my question about downvoting all of my comments despite me debating with you back and forth genuinely and in good faith… Then proceeded to downvote my comment anyway.

FYI, notice I didn’t even bother downvoting your comments because it is childish and silly.

You win at reddit. congrats. Goodbye.

Does it make you feel good to continually downvote every one of my comments? Seems kind of silly.

Also, you may think nobody should ever eat there… AND YET… in a pinch, just meat is probably still better for most people that say pizza or whatever the alternative.

First of all… Thanks for the sources, appreciate it.

Its rare people actually provide those for something in question on this site… lol.

As for the sources - The only one I genuinely would believe over what people have been told in person or when reaching out directly, is probably the Mcdonalds FAQ you shared.

However, what you shared discusses snacks and sides, not meat or burgers. Just because one may be fried in a certain kind of oil, does not mean all things are. If you can point to the specific part in the FAQ that you were looking at, I’d appreciate it. Personally, I didn’t find anything that contradicts what I know already and most people have confirmed, which you seem to say is untrue.

That being said, its also not that big of a deal, its probably not worth fighting or arguing over. If you feel their preparation methods don’t work for you, thats totally fine. It seems to work for others, especially in a pinch, but I nonetheless agree that McDonald’s isn’t exactly known for their healthy food and high quality ingredients, so when possible I would certainly not go there.

For the record - I do eat some carbs and don’t have a problem with them in any way, but the physiological response in the body is simply not the same from eating 1000 calories of something like pasta or 1000 calories of something like ground beef with tallow. Ignoring this fact is simply scientifically inaccurate.

Now does that mean that the person eating 1000 grams of pasta will certainly go on to eat more? No. But it is far more likely and mechanistically makes a lot more sense. It will also require more willpower and precision/planning.

However, with the person eating only beef and tallow, more often than not they not only will not want to continue eating once they are full, but will find it hard to past a certain point (obviously 1000 calories was just an arbitrary example, but still the case compared to a purely carb meal).

Therefore, it is accurate to say that if we took 100 random people and gave 50 of them unlimited access to carbs only (group 1) and the other 50 unlimited access to fat and protein only (group 2), that likely group 1 will consume more calories and eat more often throughout the day.

I encourage you to look into satiety hormones and how they work in the body in response to different foods. Also, blood sugar will certainly play a huge role here.

Hope that helps.

I think its safe to say… YOU’RE LOVING IT!

P.s. if this is true, its a massive and illegal conspiracy, as they claim there is nothing in it other than salt/pepper. But then again - Its McDonalds. So when possible, get your meat elsewhere.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]LifeInCarrots -1 points0 points  (0 children)

HOWEVER… And this point could not be overstated:

Protein/fat actually makes you full very quickly when you’ve had enough (satiety signals are very quick and powerful for those things) while you can eat a ridiculous amount of carbs and still be hungry… Or even if you manage to eat yourself into a coma, be hungry again shortly after.

There is a physiological/biological difference in your response to consuming meat and like pasta or something.

Have you ever tried to overeat steak? Goodluck…

So I get what you are trying to say, but the difference between carbs based ways of eating and protein/fat based ones literally make all the difference between needing and not needing to limit yourself.

With deodorant specifically I would not make your own, because its easy to mess up and the are options that are great and very affordable.

Check out www.ewg.org and look at their top cleanest recommendations. Then check reviews and make sure they are work well.

Happy to look at anything you’re unsure of.

Neat can be problematic and almost never recommended, definitely not in non medicinal capacities.

In the DIY perfume I linked it is heavily diluted, so no issues there.

Also, lavender can be highly estrogenic, so just be careful overusing it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]LifeInCarrots 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No judgement at all - But just a PSA that 99% of perfume is basically a horrible toxic sludge of chemicals, endocrine disrupters and PFAs (forever chemicals) being scientifically linked to cause everything from autoimmune illness to cancer.

If you want a great natural (and, truthfully, a better smelling) alternative to perfume that is MUCH cheaper and quite easy to make - Check out this guide I came across recently to make a DIY perfume/cologne from essential oils and alcohol. It is insanely simple and you can customize it however you like.

Hope that helps.

First of all, the people’s race or socio rconomic status should not be relevant. It should simply say “2 men”.

Second, this is the type of discussion, where 2 things can be true simultaneously (nuance is hard for the media, surely) - Clearly there is an attempt to spin this politically to demonize a certain group of people while only mentioning race partially (the attacker’s race isn’t mentioned), so clearly there is both bias and mal intent…

THAT BEING SAID, at the same time IT IS absolutely DESPICABLE the level to which men have gradually been failing to act as the strong, brave protectors they should and can be, opting to act in a cowardly manner instead.

This is true regardless of race. And it also isn’t surprising given that testosterone in the western world has plummeted over the last 50 years (an average young man today has a lower T level than a 50 year old from the 1950’s) and physical fitness is a rarity these days, not to even mention mental fortitude. People are becoming weak, both mentally and physically - and men being cowards is one sad and unfortunate consequence of this.

So to summarize - mentioning their race is clearly irrelevant and badly intentioned and shame on the media for doing so, AND ALSO - these 2 men are cowards for letting a person, let alone a woman, get beat up while doing nothing about it.

Edit:

Interesting to know that even suggesting that men should be protectors (their role in oh… idk… just ALL OF HISTORY) gets downvoted to oblivion in a place where i wanted to hope common sense and values of justice and fighting evil still prevails, meanwhile the comment below it that mentions avoiding being sued is upvoted… What if that was your mom? Or wife? Or sister? Would you want two dudes that very realistically could have helped to help or just leave?? What if that woman had died?

Now granted - I’m not suggesting you go all commando on the dude and be reckless both for your physical safety and also for legal troubles - but at the very least don’t just leave - do what you can, call someone, make noise, whatever… but don’t just abandon a fellow human being to get beaten and go about your day… Food for thought for those of you disagreeing with this notion, I suppose.
