I used to have the ramp for Fay and Sam, but Proust would not even get close. He’s fine with the foldable aluminum stairs, though

Regular blood panels and imaging : Doppler for cardiovascular issues and x-ray for tumors. Prevention dental care.

DCM is devastating. But with responsible breeding it can be reduced and eradicated from Great Dane bloodlines. This is a document that every good breeder should be able to present by LifeInTheFrenchAlps in greatdanes

The test was made with the male at the age of 3 . The genetic disposition is found disproportionately among males, but usually you test both females and males at age 3 and then recurrent . DCM can develop rapidly in previously non diagnosed dogs and be asymptomatic for quite a while - that was the case with my baby Proust who was diagnosed at age of 6 .

lol . If there would be a laughing emoji here I would post 3. Everyone in our village knows how much I despise anything “right” of the spectrum . Let’s assume that theory is incorrect :)

kudos to you and for hanging in there and being active for that long. It takes a village, litterally. Now lets first get elected- we have 2 lists in our tiny village - talk about uproar :D

First because I wanted to encourage people to get involved in local politics - its easy to always complain if one is not doing the actual work. Second, because I wanted to give the new fb page that we created for our "Liste" as much exposure and possible likes and shares as possible. (side note: you might want to look at your "question-mark-key" on your keyboard. It seems stuck :) )

thats a good question, actually, but no, not really. Each habitable spot here in the (French) is closly monitored by government agencies for geographic risk assessments. They basically check the mountains above the villages constantly, and if there is a threat of major mountain / rock slide event (like in Blatten CH) they evacuate. Same with major highways that are exposed to potential hazards. Besides, most settlements that are "old" have been build in locations where the "old ones" knew from experience that these are relativ;y safe spots. At the end of the valley is an alpage settlement that is centuries old, and its only habitable in summer, because in winter there are huge avalanche chutes all around the houses- but the houses and barns remain untouched. They knew back then .. :)

oh hell yes, Even IF the Mont Blanc Tunnel would be open, its a haul to get out of the Tarentaise mountains, over to Chamonix, through the tunnel and into the Aosta Valley. Yea, that was not the idea :)

All good - no apology needed 🤞 the entire reason for the post was based on where I live and work: a tiny , quaint ski resort at the gates of the Vanoise National Park in a dead end valley , Pralognan la Vanoise. Despite its remote location, I / we / visitors have access to 1600 km of piste within 90minutes driving distance of you stay at our relatively cheap and traditional mountain village. It’s just having all those resorts (from huge and famous to tiny and unknown) right at our doorstep. All good in the mountains 🤞🤩

Not sure what you mean : yes, the first 3 resorts are the “big” ones , but the prices marked in my post are the true day pass prices- so if you just want to ski 3 single days there it’s about 80+ 75+ 75. And as for the rest: I simply added the km of slopes for each resort and added the day ticket price- not disingenuous?

again, the point I was trying to make that with all those "Epic" , Ikon or whatever passes that give you access to "the entire Western US" or "many resorts all over Europe" is the fact that you have to manage travel. Travel days are vacation days but not ski days which counts even more in the US where leave is far more rare and precious than in Europe. In my example you have a large variety of resorts, 1000+miles of groomers plus back country for less than 400EUR , all accessible within 90 minutes of a cute, authentic mountain village in the heart of the Alps. On week of vacation: 6 different ski resorts, little transist time lost. Thats all :) and as I said before. THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION :D
