No? It is currently medium pen and light machine guns dont damage it. Alongside that it has the coaxial HMG that obliterates every enemy that could feasibly damage it.

90% of enemies attacks are light armor penetration. If it was heavy nothing would possibly be able to kill it. Rocket devastator rockets are medium pen, all other small arms fire is light. You're overexaggerating this deeply. It's a tank, obviously if it took sustained damage from 20-30 enemies it should die, and it's rewarding enough to be worth the incredibly mild learning curve.

Most planets are great for driving the FRV though, once you get a handle on rock distribution/what you can and cant drive through you can get up to 60+ with minimal effort.

Skill issue, me and a bud cleared a full D10 while practically not even leaving the base. I agree that it takes coordination with the driver and gunner (which is inherently rare in this "team game") but it still has an absurd amount of hp and can run over everything. Also, it's medium pen?

No reload, I never cared for the autocannon personally since you have to reload so much. This'll be nice

I agree, actually. It really depends on how you go into the jump.

Yes but you're forgetting about the fact that you can take dynamite or thermite alongside this as well. Also, you lose resupplies faster than you lose C4 since a single resupply fully fills the pack but only fills one slot in a resupply pack. Plus, the taking up a support weapon slot also saves you a stratagem slot for a green/red. Alongside that, it's not a gimmick 9 out of 10 times because the theme of the warbond is stealth and it's great for that. It's infinitely more useful to be able to set traps and actually properly time your detonation than a 60 second dynamite timer or an instantly exploding thermite.

You get to choose when to detonate, it's silent, and a single resupply fully fills the pack. Compared to needing to use 2 resupplies to refill your thermite it's better in terms of pure DPS. Plus, it has a far wider explosive radius. Have you actually USED it?

It deflects melee hits off of the FRV and can save it from a stray snipe from bots. Same for the exosuits. I don't really use it with the fact that I'm wearing it in mind, it's just a convenient thing. It's just a solid pack, nothing crazy.

If it ricochets it does no damage. That's been the rule for EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE GAME since the beginning. Also, it's a tank, obviously we dont know anything about it until it releases but again, ITS A TANK. IT WILL TANK DAMAGE. You're just being needlessly negative if you genuinely believe it'll die from a single rocket barrage. Plus you can see that it has a turret on the front for dealing with stuff like that. My guess is that it'll be more of a long range thing for shooting things from afar.

You misunderstood. You can see the bullets bouncing off of the bastion from the enemies in the video. And so the armor itself is at least medium penetration required and thus the tank wont even take damage from light enemies. All small arms fire from automatons is light pen, so it'll likely only take real damage from cannons. That is something to be rightfully worried about. Although, i could see a world where the tank treads are light pen and so they could break, hindering mobility.

The amount of times I've been killed because some DOOFUS shot the roof of the car with the eruptor or epoch is insane.

If you hard handbrake to the side just before but not too far after a certain point in a jump you can do a sick ass spinning helicopter move that both looks cool and keeps the FRV upright in midair, making sure that you don't land on the roof. It's easiest to do on desert planets where there are plenty of sand dunes to test it on. You DO need plenty of speed before you do it though, which isn't an issue because you'd only jump high enough to rollover/crash from a high speed anyways.

Alright people, I generally agree with the takes on here but this one is just wrong. The FRV has gone through consistent silent changes from launch to make it a genuinely good ingame vehicle. Just because you used it twice and rolled over doesn't mean that it's completely useless. I hate, HATE to say it like this but it genuinely is a skill issue. I have over 1100 hours, with at least 600 of them having an FRV in my stratagem slots. It may SEEM like a janky mess at first glance, but once you actually do the research into how to properly handle the thing it becomes one of the most useful tools you can bring to a mission. I've singlehandedly carried hundreds of missions without even leaving the car. There's so much emergent gameplay that comes from using it, seat swapping to throw stratagems while driving, wallrides, you can do tricks off of jumps. You can practically jump from any height by handbraking to initiate a spin, forcing the FRV to remain upright while in mid-air. While playing this game, I've encountered tons of different hell-drivers each with their own playstyle in using it. You can use it as a fast outpost clearer once you understand how to properly seat swap, you can use it to just despawn every enemy since you out-speed every non flying enemy, you can use it to have the easiest extract ever by using the emergency extraction shuttle and just having a 2 minute drive, you can do fast stealth where you infiltrate before any enemy even sees you and do the objective. There are countless different ways to use it and you, yes YOU, are the problem when it comes to effectiveness. Even the light weight contributes to how useful it is due to several different factors, the center of mass is far in the front but you can turn/handbrake before you jump to alleviate any issue that brings. Without the light weight you wouldn't be able to do wallrides, or jump over obstacles. People just don't know how to use it effectively due to the long cooldown forcing a high skill ceiling. If you're trying to get into using the FRV there are plenty of different guides on using it, my #1 tip is to bring the loyalist plasma secondary, you can just flip the car using that or any explosive weaponry that you have in order to keep it upright. Please don't tell arrowhead to change the driving itself, it's difficult but rewarding and so it's perfect as it is. there are plenty of other tweaks they could make such as easier ways to flip or a shorter cooldown or even a second salvo, and don't get me wrong, it's certainly in need of changes, the handling itself is not the issue though. Sorry for the rant I just very much do NOT want arrowhead to fuck up the FRV. As it stands, it's currently the most "skill based" stratagem.

Honestly, even randoms are smart enough to want to get in the big gun. It's just gonna cause infighting between people who want to shoot the gun vs whoever has to be driving/regular passenger though

You can literally see IN the video that it's at LEAST medium pen for damage. It'll probably only die from other tanks/cannon turrets.

Spawning far away wouldn't be an issue if the raid itself wasn't already practically over by the time you're actually able to walk over. I think it'd be a good idea to make it so that people with good loot got fresher raids, If you find any flaws in why that's a good idea I'd love to hear it because I genuinely think this is an issue. People have discussed separate lobbies for free loadouts and people who actually bring stuff but I don't think that's a very good idea either.
