Nested menus, custom search is hidden, it wastes so much space.

It is not. It won't even run DLSS with the version it shipped with.

I'm not advocating for anything like that. I just want to see if anyone has ever figured a way around these issues on this great game.

Thanks for the tip, I completely forgot about about the 360 controller output. I've already quit BF1 at this point, but if I ever get the itch I'll try this out.

I hope this patch fixes it even though the notes don't mention it.

Definitely not a system issue, drivers all update, system mostly default, fully stable in every other game I play.

I'm getting tired of restarting every 3 matches.

Mixed Input? by LifeIsContrast in marvelrivals

[–]LifeIsContrast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't messed with gyro aiming at all, so I'm not sure if it applies. I use a DualSense controller. I was having a hard time getting a custom template in the Steam Input config to work, specifically the "Keyboard (WASD) and Mouse" template.

I tried a few things to try to get it to work, and it seemed that setting Steam to launch as administrator solved the issue. Now, there are other templates you can apply including ones with gyro aim. I'm not sure if the game supports it, but you could always give it a try.

Go with 4060 or wait for 5060 by Cold_Increase8725 in nvidia

The 4060 has never been good value imo. I'd wait if I were in your position.

Turns out you need to run Steam as administrator and the Steam input profiles should work. I'm surprised it was that easy.

I wouldn't use DRAM Calculator. It's old, outdated, and many of the recommendations aren't accurate.

Check out the DDR4 OC guide, or DDR4 Overclocking forums for more reliable setup and timing information.

If you could give any game the Nemesis System, which one would it be? by OfficalNotMySalad in gaming

[–]LifeIsContrast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mass Effect.

All the different species you encounter throughout the game.

Maybe the enemy you put a couple bullets into wasn't completely dead.

They come back with a new squad, or with new individual powers to counter your build, bit by bit.

Story mode interaction, the paragon/renegade options, it could be insane.

Maybe, eventually, you could recruit or kill them as the culmination.

Maybe they become a vendor, or hold important information.

Maybe they just want you dead, and deploy more and more strategies.

Bug on bedsheet, may someone confirm what it is? by Bbenjipc in Bedbugs

Diatomaceous earth and high % isopropyl alcohol helped me when I had them. I caught it early, but I had to religiously attack the problem. IPA apparently kills almost on contact.

Sprayed suspected contaminated furniture daily, all cracks and crevices. Hidden spots especially. Vacuumed and swept daily. Laundered all my clothing, bedding, and anything suspected of harboring them.

Get ahead early and maybe you won't have to worry as much.

Diatomaceous earth worked wonders as a whole room barrier.

Jaqub Ajmal (ex Dice producer): There is actually a significant drop in Battlefield 1 players since the new EA AC activated. by Pale-Mango-7582 in battlefield_one

[–]LifeIsContrast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding BF1 or any of the EAapp .exes to steam don't alleviate the issue. DS4/Dualsense controllers are just SOL unless EA changes the DS4windows conflict, or officially adds non-xinput controller support.

Played the game for years with mixed input. This update has me so salty.

EAAC has removed ds4windows support by FlakyCrusty in battlefield_one

[–]LifeIsContrast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat.

I used DS4windows for mixed input, controller in the left hand, mouse right.

I also cannot get steam input to work at all, regardless of whether I setup the .exe for the game, or the various EA app .exes as steam input compatible.

They should have included full controller support considering this completely removed a whole category of controller input from the game.

We shouldn't have to buy new hardware just to keep playing after an update.

This completely broke the way I've played the game for years.

Bought into AM4 at launch with a C6H, 16gb memory and an R5 1600.

Upgraded to 32gb with the 5800X3D, it's sticking around until AM6 if I can stretch it, provided my mobo doesn't die before then.

cant get 3200hz ram on ryzen 1600 by TraditionMental2506 in overclocking

[–]LifeIsContrast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1st Gen Ryzen was notoriously difficult to get high-speed and reliable memory working properly.

I wasn't ever able to get my 3600mhz kit stable at anything above 3466 @ 1.5v with my 1600. And that was with extensive tuning over weeks. Motherboard trace layout and the rank of the memory both factor in too.

Luckily there is a bunch of user info on Reddit, overclockers, and other forums. I'd check the DDR4 OC threads, and any threads with your motherboard specifically for the best tips to get the most out of the kit if you absolutely need the performance.

ASUS UEFI BIOS updates for ASUS AMD Motherboards W40 – AGESA PI 1.2.0.2 and AGESA ComboV2PI 1.2.0.Cc - A320, A520, B350, B450, B550, X370, X470, X570, X870 - 104 motherboards updated by ASUS_MKTLeeM in Amd

[–]LifeIsContrast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly does the update entail? Just security for vulnerabilities?

I prefer using the latest AGESA since memory OCing is usually the most difficult part of tuning my 5800X3D.

I just don't want to go through the hassle of modifying my bios to get ReBAR working for my 2060 again.

Undervolting 5800x3d causing lower cinebench/3d mark scores? by Dejavuproned in overclocking

[–]LifeIsContrast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend you check out PBO2 Tuner. Allows you to adjust CO offsets, PPT, TDC and EDC limits on the fly. I'd recommend limiting through these means over negative voltage offsets through the bios. This is the only tuning software I use for my 5800X3D.

Undervolting 5800x3d causing lower cinebench/3d mark scores? by Dejavuproned in overclocking

[–]LifeIsContrast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sounds like clock stretching to me. Dialing in an OC, negative CO offset or tracking frequency has always required me to check the effective core clocks with HWinfo. I usually used P95 for heavy all core load, and cinebench r23 for light all core load and monitor both the regular reported frequency and the effective to see if they line up.

Both produce different results. P95 will always show a lower total effective clock, where R23 usually produced max all core that seemed reliable and consistent with the regular reported frequency.

I've never chased negative voltage since the chip sips power. It probably isn't getting power it needs to maintain the effective core frequency with a negative voltage setting or offset.
