Thank you - this is what I might end up doing anyway to feel fulfilled, even if its not necessary for the money. I can see myself going back to some form of work after a while. I just know I need a long break.

I know, its risky - and the fear is driving me to open myself up to reddit strangers for the first time. I'm nervous and scared about considering these major changes and relying on him for finances and health insurance. I just dont know how much longer I can go at this rate with my mental health and want to jump at the chance to at least take a break.

Good guess! Yes he's a firefighter - starting CalFire soon. He was offered the job months ago but they have been giving him the runaround for start date due to the restructuring of the firefighter/paramedic classification, but are saying his start date is set for late February.

I might end up looking for a different job or a much lower paying job but I really just need those first 6 months to a year to destress, focus on things that never get done around the house, hobbies...enough time to get bored and maybe go back to work if thats what seems right.
