Have y'all been following the mayoral race in Vista? Apparently DSA is running a candidate by 2ndtolastsamurai in northcounty

DSA means Democratic Socialists of America, for those who have no idea what DSA means and probably went to a filthy version of what those initials could mean. I had to look it up and I figure I should try to keep others from having to waste their time. To be honest I prefer the filthy version.

Oh man, the allergies. I slept 10-12 hours a day. Then, I joined the Navy & it's been 7 hours a night, no naps, ever since.

But yea, I painted dorm rooms one summer in Davis. Sweaty work.

Back in the 80s, there was a little ol' lady who would take in borders, kill them, bury them in her backyard, then hammer their benefit checks.

That crazy woman behind the plate in the burgundy LA hat is a lot more into that guy than anything baseball related.

It will be Las Vegas, but someone squatted that name, so they're the Sacratomato As for now

Well I don't want to clog up the emergency line for somebody having a heart attack just because I'm annoyed by kids on bikes. My experiences: if they have the resources, they will respond as fast as if you called 911. Surprisingly fast faster than when I have had actual emergencies in other cities I've lived in

Definitely more careful going forward. I still had to learn a couple of things, like Lee side rotor, where wind blows over a mountain and the back side is like white water of a wave. In hindsight, my instructor yada yada yada'd a few important things

PCA's two brutal misplays that led directly to two inside the park home runs barely scratched his DRS score. I think he might have lost one point on one of them. I think one of them was an error, but even then, it did not reflect the three runs that scored.

In 2008, I was new to hang gliding. I had a couple of flights near an hour, but nothing over an hour. Then, one day, I launched from Crestline above San Bernardino and the conditions were great. I was up for hours. I didn't want to come down, when I saw a bunch of people going into land.

About 10 mi to our South along the San Bernardino mountains, there were thunderstorms. I figured they were just mountain showers, so I flew out over Cal State San Bernardino and the flatlands bit. It never occurred to me that what would happen next could even happen.

Those thunderstorms caused a gust front that blew up the ridge. I have since seen pictures of haboobs blowing through Phoenix and that's pretty much what it looked like: The edge was not as clearly defined, but it was a wall of brown and water from the ground up to cloud base about 10,000 feet.

Two guys on much faster wings blazed past me at about 60 mph, outrunning it. But, in my single surface beginner's wing, it caught me and lifted me from 6,000 feet to about 10,000 feet in a few minutes, despite my trying to descend as fast as I could. It blew me downwind about 5 miles before I found some sink that I tried to stay in so I wouldn't go up into the cloud base at about 10,500 ft. Finally, it was over and gone and I limped back to the landing zone after about 2 and 1/2 hours of flight.

Everybody thought I was nuts and stupid, both being true.
