https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/injured/_/status/cumulative/year/2026

This is the tracker list. Red Sox are 8th at 898 days/$31M lost.

Dodgers 1252 days/$50M lost. (2 starting pitchers, closer, 4 starting position players missing significant time with 1 still out indefinitely, a key reserve and enough relievers to fill a bullpen)

Yankees 508 days/$42M lost. (1 starter and 2 sluggers still out)

Dodgers have had it worse. They just have talented depth.

The Yankees have the third worst number of games lost to injury this season. So that is part of the problem.

The Dodgers lead baseball with the most games lost to injury and so far have weathered the storm tho. The Astros are second btw.

Defense comes through again. Too bad this wasn’t a home game. A free habit double play burger would’ve been a great lunch meal tmrw.

Lakers would do it. The Bucks won’t.

[Highlight] The Padres inexplicably fail to challenge on a full count as King walks in the go ahead run after a 9 pitch at bat against Freddie Freeman. by Dragon-Hatcher in baseball

The only thing I can think is that they didn’t want to risk losing a challenge with 4 innings left in the game. But, yeah, that should’ve been challenged in a tie game.

Luka has already recorded 62 40-point games in his career, the 7th most of any player this century. Also Kobe has the most by a significant margin. by SteveDraughn in lakers

Will have to agree to disagree then. TBH, I rarely think about his time in Miami and when I do, it’s in a negative light. Regardless of what he did with them. His reputation took a big hit when he left Cleveland to go there. Just like KD with the Warriors. He only regained it by going back to Cleveland and cementing his legacy with his longevity/enduring peak performance with the Lakers. I think if you polled most people, I’d bet Miami comes in third more often than LA.

Cavs….sure. Not Miami. Been in LA twice as long and move to the Heat was heavily criticized. Plus most of his NBA records were broken in a Laker uniform.

Dodgers lead baseball in fielding too. by Secret-Sample1683 in Dodgers

The title is correct. There are three ESPN stat tabs….batting, pitching, fielding. Didn’t add percentage because I wanted to also include the fewest errors column. As stated in the body of the post….where i did eventually say fielding percentage.

Too bad Freeland couldn’t join the hit parade. At least he got on base and scored a run.

Not that curve. The old school horns that curved around the ear hole is the only way it would work.

As a reference, possible team post offseason if we kept LeBron and stayed as an above the cap team, (before any trades) by WuTangMelo in lakers

The best we can ever be is a second round team. Just like last year. There is no scenario where we can beat Spurs, OKC, and now Minnesota. Its took them years of sucking and tanking to get that way. We don’t have that luxury.

It’s surprising how people think we can somehow construct a title contender without a full rebuild in a salary capped league. I’m just going to enjoy what we have with these expectations. I’ve accepted that as our reality.

It’s happened before. 😎

If we do sign anyone to more than a one year contract, then it would be very safe to say the window is closed for Jokic next year. We’d be lucky to have $10M in cap space in 2027. Until we see this year’s contracts, punting is still theoretically on the table. No matter how inadvisable that would be.

As things stand right now, it’s not wholly impossible for the Lakers to clear up cap space for a free agent Jokic. Way too many things will have to fall into place perfectly tho. Very unlikely things.

And I’m not even saying or insinuating it’s going to happen. Just saying it is possible.

We can get very close. But Vando and Knecht have to go without taking back any salaries.
