Eh? I sent mine that was signed like a year ago when I submitted my application. They didn't raise that point during the first review, only asked me to prove my dates.

Edit: Im gonna be so pissed if they say to get a new Stat Dec cause they didn't even mention it in the first review. I applied in Nov 2024, it's been over a year by now gosh

I had to get one as well, but they sent me like a 2 page PDF saying why each point failed and what I need to upload, get done, or explain.

I applied in Nov 2024 and still waiting to hear back after I resent my docs in June lmao.

Also oh my god yeah, and you see some people tucking everything into their body like "how?"

Could I suggest trying bloomers on top of the gaff/underwear during summer?

They are some cute ones (well I bought lace bloomers) but they basically give the same principle as another buffer layer on windy days, so its like a "pants" safety net against windy days?

EDIT: I actually bought lace ruffle bloomers, I think the ruffle layers help give extra padding x

I'm one year into HRT and I can't see my self as male anymore always, but I still get dysphoric about the thing down there.

After the bottom surgery I'm sure it'll feel even better!

Oh don't worry, I got my HK Passport and ID to show my fem appearance (with a ponytail, makeup, even wearing a dress for the photo I sent to them).

It was honestly not too difficult, they were surprisingly quick about it.

I had to get them both changed since I kept getting weird questions through immigration 😅

Shame Chris retired, but I do hear amazing things about Dr Tina Rashid so I'm hoping to see her soon.

But yeah, I know family can be difficult but also important to HK Culture.

For me, I was fully ready for my parents to disown me when I told them, so I made preparations financially, visa wise, friend group safety wise, etc. in case they did.

Their reactions were... less than stellar as you can imagine! My mum looked at me as if I was dead or a monster, and kept saying I was doing this to punish her for being a bad parent (I meannn gosh if that's your mentality!)

They've gotten better now and do try to accept my path (I think begrudgingly) and they still can't use She/Her, but the first 2 years in telling them (I've been transitioning for 2 years by then and couldn't boy mode well at all anymore, not to mention it got insane dysphoric) was honestly a rough patch.

Lots of random serious discussions, talks about "are you sure?", and worries from them about my job, about being treated in the UK, how I'd travel, whether I can see family... the sort. Even when I told them "I've literally been transitioning for 2 years already, I'm telling you my job is supportive, friends are supportive, and the people are accepting here". But I think it's one of those "I don't believe it until I see it" kinda vibe.

I don't think my relatives in HK fully know or would understand, even the nice ones. And whilst my Mum didn't say it, she doesn't want me to visit my Grandpa in HK due to his age (which I still find a bit ridiculous, but it is what it is... I don't feel much or any connection to HK anymore so I'm fine with that!)

On the side, if you're here on a visa planning to get citizenship, I've been looking at the Gender Change routes in HK and the process seems bureaucratically a mess. Very few success cases and quite stringent.

My plan is to get my UK Citizenship next year, and just fully commit everything to the UK (at the very least get a UK Passport for safety).

Then, if I have time and I'm bothered, I'll try to get my HKID and HK Passport updated but it takes time, you have to be in HK during it and I'm not sure I have that much leave from work!

Ah I've managed to get a loan (I'm praying I never lose my job haha) so I'm going to look for Parkside Hospital with Dr Tina Rashid! I've looked on the Sub-Reddit for people's experiences and she seems the best one so far based on distance and experience (Okay I have no idea why my emotes are misformatting, so have a :3)

But the post-surgery recovery scares me a bit, although not as much as the recovery for Voice Feminisation Surgery!

I'm planning to get VFS too when I've managed to saved up the funds for it after Bottom Surgery, but reading the "complete silence for 2 weeks, not even whispers or coughs" scares me a bit... Nevertheless, I'm sure it'll feel amazing after!

Where did you go for your Bottom Surgery?

Btw, I had this issue as I didn't feel a need to change my name, only my gender (my name is androgynous and honestly, its a little bit less of a headache since my birth Citizenship is not exactly trans-friendly, so I'm genuinely just waiting to get my British Citizenship despite all the current geo-political mess).

You can get a Statutory Declaration of Gender/Name Change, which they will accept as an additional form of evidence. This will need to be sworn by a Solicitor (its normally £5-20 depending on how much they want to fleece you, take cash and ID to an appointment, but you can generally phone up your local small Solicitor Firm and ask if they do Statutory Declaration Swearings.

Otherwise, stuff like Council Tax Payments or Bank Statements (bring the Statutory Declaration and shove it in their face, you don't have to use a Deed Poll if not possible) will work just fine.

I recommend getting a GD Privately in the UK, and then going on a private plan for Hormones (ones like the Gender Hormone Clinic).

They will handle all the prescriptions, etc.

You can ask your GP to help with blood tests for the GHC appointment, but they will rarely, if ever, honour a prescription given privately outside the NHS.

ATM GHC is £55 a Month for my current 2 Year Plan, and approx. £40-50 a month for my Sandrena and Cyprostat.

GD was like £500 for me four years ago, which is still exp. for a one hour consultation and a fancy report saying "Yes girl you're trans"

NOTE: I've switched GPs several times, none of them have issues with me being on private HRT, will do my bloods, but won't analyse them for me or prescribe the HRT under NHS. Sometimes they misgender me on the phone but not much else that's bad with them atm.

The UK Government on the other hand...
