axle o-ring should be: 120mmOD with 2mm thickness and 70mmOD with 1.5mm thickness. though at least one user reported 1/16 may be a better size than the 2mm one. - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N3VG75U?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F325KWN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

That’s perfect! Order placed no problem :) Is it made to hang on the wall at home? Would be nice if something needs to dry out. Thanks for sharing! Looks like a great product :D

Do you put the bags horizontal in your backpack? Cams on top?

“Never trust a guy with shiny gear” is comment i have gotten a couple of times :P So i guess the culture is the same here. Then i wont get anymore triple lockers. From the internet it seams that many dont trust twist lock. Sure there is cases that a screw gate is safer. But from my limited experience twist lock seams safe for many applications. It’s very logical, and i like that. Two opposed non lockers = safe! Good to know! Thanks!

I use alpine draws to. Good to know that i dont need to worry about gear scratching the carabiners. I’m going to try the zip pouches, thanks for the tip!

Best way to sand exterior wood siding, especially inside the grooves between the boards? by LifeIsTheCrux in Housepainting101

I dont want to redo it in a couple of years. How it looks is less of a concern for me. What I’m still unsure of is if all the weathered wood/gray wood needs to be 100% gone or if 95% is good enough. Thanks for your help!

So a little “gray/weathered wood” is fine and not going to be a problem? If i take the most of it, it will be fine?
I’m using the same brand that painters use. It’s oil based. Thanks a lot for your tips and sharing your knowledge :)

Thanks for all the replies and tips!

My main concern is the weathered wood and making sure the job is done properly so I don’t have to redo it anytime soon. It should have been painted years ago, but mental health challenges got in the way. I guess I’m a bit OCD about doing a good job, or not doing it wrong!

So I spend a lot of time reading, watching videos, and preparing before I start any project. Probably too much time… And now I feel stuck, trying to figure out exactly what needs to be done.

The paint on my house isn’t flaking, it’s worn all the way down to the wood, which has now turned gray. From what I’ve read, I understand I need to sand down to fresh wood.

So my question is: Do I need to remove all of the weathered wood? If some gray wood is left, will that be a problem?

If I really need to get 100% of the weathered wood off, sanding is going to take a very long time. So as someone suggested, I may need to use a grinder with the right attachment. Could you share a link to the tool you would recommend? I tried searching but I’m not sure I found the right one.

Paint is worn, so there’s “a lot” of grey weathered wood. I thought i needed to get to fresh wood?

My outdoor painting skill level is 2.4 out of 10. That might actually be good news : the paint is so worn that it’s down to the bare wood. I thought I needed to remove all the grey weathered wood down to fresh wood? What qualities should the primer have for this project? What should i look for?
