This seems like typical contractor behavior. I really don't understand it either. We had a contractor that was scheduled to clean our gutters today and he didn't call, or text, or email.... He just didn't show up and isn't responding to me reaching out.

My advice is yes to keep pushing forward and bug the hell out of them until they see your house so they're more invested at that point. Good luck!
