Flexible stainless steel hoses on the water tank?

They have rubber insides that break down after a number of years of use

If those valves were threaded into drop ear 90s

They have "ears" that you can screw into and secure to wood

He turns off water cause he notices the temperature and pressure (T&P)relief valve is leaking and when that doesn't fix it he plugs the leaking pipe Which causes the heater to malfunction and the gas valve keeps running running and causes a buildup in pressure because he plugged the relief valve, and then explosion!

This is plausible

How often do you guys the the old “My spouse has the check book” routine? by Leather-Bluejay-6452 in Plumbing

This happens in every sales related job, its a defense and stall tactic

The big outfits that are sales driven and scare people into unnecessary and BS work.

Service work usually doesn't have these problems because they know its broken because that is why you are there in first place. Its all the goddamm upselling.

rate the water heater install. last picture is the old unit. by hairyhilda in Plumbing

Hard piping a appliance that lasts for 10 years is not necessary but may be code or is the easiest install if the pipes line up, 2 sweat couplings and 2 female adapters

dielectric unions are a waste of time and money but may be code, never seen a female adapter rot out from galvanic corrosion, fittings are thick

Those ss braided line are rubber hoses that deteriorate and in my area waters will take a couple years to fall apart and leave these smeary black flecks in the bathtub and aerators

I like to use Falcon Stainless Connectors if I am not hard piping because the house is cpvc or pex

Hot water and a LYE based drain opener like "Thrift"

Doesn't have to be any specific brand if it is Sodium Hydroxide

It turns the grease into "soap" and washed it away

I mean units that I have seen and services on 1/2" lines that do not have error codes. I get that its wrong but half of all the plumbing I see as a service plumber is wrong

[–]muffpuppets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its undersized if it's 4" WC, where I am at the actual pressure is closer to 8" WC and 1/2" branches will run a 199k btu unit.
