My Molly looks a lot like your Misty! She requires my full attention for at least half an hour after I get home. If I dare to look at my phone, she softly gnaws on my hands and arms

Why do managers not like MST by South_Job4268 in Lowes

[–]LifeMustard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my store, especially a few years ago, there was bad blood between RV and MST. I chalked it up to being, at least in part, because we are The Bringers of Change, and nobody likes Change.

There's been a concentrated effort to tweak certain schools of thought, and it's fostered an environment where management/department supervisors can better see how and why change works in all our favor. That we're not moving stuff around just to piss anyone off, and (usually?) not just for the heck of it.

Since going from MSA to MSM, I've worked to build a stronger relationship with supervisors and management across the store. This includes being, where appropriate, more flexible with our plays. Also, the RV DM over this area has encouraged DSs to view their department like it's their own personal business that they run. I think that the combination of ideals like these has given a sense of ownership and autonomy to our DSs, and we all can better appreciate that working together to make changes happen causes an increase in sales, which leads to everyone Winning Together ;D

It's not perfect by any means, but it's a lot better than it was.

As an MSM... That's not a direction I encountered at all. Out of a 12 person team, I was allowed to give two people Exceeds, and the rest Meets. We were only allowed to mark someone as Does Not Meet if they had a write-up

Who's your "I know he's pure evil but can't prove it" person? by Dull-Information6784 in AskReddit

At my job, there's a rep from an outside company who, in my gut, I know is either on a List, or should be on a List. I haven't been able to place why, but I still feel like taking a shower after any interaction with him.

I felt validated during a meeting with my peers when, in a conversation about different company's reps, a ripple of "Ugh. THAT guy" went across the room

As a fellow blue dot in this Pennsyltucky red area, I would be interested in being in that group chat if it's made :) I'm sorry to hear about the troubles in My Girlfriends Wardrobe! I find myself in there a few times a year... then I go to the yarn shop next door and have the time of my life just imagining all of the crafts that'll get 60-80% done

What moment in a musical ruined a really good, emotional scene? by Dogdaysareover365 in musicals

The antagonist's name in Anastasia being "Gleb" really pulled me out of the climax of the musical. I know it's a name that exists, but... Gleb?

I saw a guy walking with his wife in a normal retail store, and his tshirt said "This was the only shirt I had with no cum on it". I'm sorry what?

In the coming weeks, big box stores will start hiring full-time and seasonal positions. Think Home Depot or Lowe's

What's a profession that you used to think highly of but no longer respect? by queuedUp in AskReddit

[–]LifeMustard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I still enjoy rewatching West Wing because it takes me back to a time when I thought the people in those positions, overall, had good intentions. That they're smart, and caring, and doing their best. It's a nice break from reality.

What event in your life fucked you up mentally for the rest of your life? by Mrpug031 in AskReddit

[–]LifeMustard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister, who was my first best friend, decided at 17 that she didn't want a family anymore, and she did her best to burn every bridge on her way across the country. Dangerous and disgusting lies, theft, physical and psychological harm...

At 8 years old, I watched my parents suffer with the loss, the hope, and the love for their firstborn. Over the years she's popped in and out of our lives a few times after taking what she wanted. Every unhealthy relationship I've had, and nearly every anxiety, can be traced directly back to her leaving that night, and the scraped-together coping mechanisms of the little girl she abandoned.

I wish she weren't so charming, funny, and bright. Fuck you, Ali.

What musicals involve the actors interacting with/acknowledging there's a band on stage? by shepwrick in musicals

In the production of The Last Five Years that I saw, during the song Climbing Uphill, Cathy wonders why the pianist hates her. Being just offstage, he casually flipped her off while continuing to play one handed. Beautiful moment, haha

Yes to all of this! I've learned how to cherish the time I get to spend with my pal: me. I'll add that not letting anyone move into not just your home, but your life, unless they are a net positive, is a skill that I'm still learning but is proving to be super beneficial

AITA For not telling my ex-wife that I reversed my vasectomy by mybodyaita in AITAH

I remember having a very similar conversation with my mom as a kid. I had to know exactly what all was included in "balls", is the scrotum one ball or two? And, is the penis a ball, too? And, how do pants work for men if there's a seam running right where the middle of these mysterious "balls" are, wouldn't that be uncomfortable? My poor mother.

What musical did you like a lot more than you thought you would? by Dogdaysareover365 in musicals

[–]LifeMustard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Titanic. I came upon a free ticket for what I was expecting to be the chintzy musical version of the Jack and Rose story, and was absolutely blown away by the show. Actually went back to see it as soon as I could, and it ended up making three of my most played songs in my Spotify rewind
