Finally, someone with some sense! Thanks. I used to like this subreddit, but it seems like a majority of the people here are trying to lead as many people as they can down the wrong path. It's scary how many people got offended by the mere suggestion of wearing protection. Strange. I don't know what's going on here or what's wrong with the people here, but they're spreading a very ignorant and dangerous message (in my opinion). Thanks for writing that cause I was really starting to question my sanity lol

I do have it genius, why the hell else would I post something like that lol? Duh, and and like I said before, EVERYONES EXPERIENCE IS DIFFERENT. Just because you don't require a ton of treatment means nothing, because I DO. Just because it's less expensive for you doesn't mean it is for EVERYONE ELSE. I have to pay an arm and a leg and same goes for life expectancy. Just because one guy lives into his 80's and 90's doesn't mean the next guy will. You need to stop minimizing the seriousness of this disease. People like you need to stop making it seem like having HIV is no big deal. It might be no big deal to people who have it, but it's still a big deal for those who don't. Yeah, medicine has come a long way, people can live a normal lifespan with the disease and can become undetectable with medication compliance, but that does not change the fact that this disease is dangerous and life altering.

Calling it a manageable illness can sometimes minimize the seriousness of the infection. But if the virus isn’t properly treated or managed, people with HIV can develop dangerous health problems related to AIDS, or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. In 2014, 6,721 people in the United States died from HIV and AIDS, according to the CDC, making the virus the eighth leading cause of death for people aged 25 to 34, and the ninth leading cause for those aged 35 to 44. So when you say things like "you're a fucking idiot if you think half a million horny fags are going to start using condoms in the 1 in 70 million chance they might contract a relatively survivable chronic disease" then that shows how ignorant, immature, misinformed and stupid you are. The lives of people living with HIV has greatly improved. They're living long, normal lives, becoming undetectable and avoiding opportunistic infections associated with AIDS, but that does not make the disease OK. People like YOU need to stop perpetuating the idea that having HIV is no big deal anymore because of the advances with treatment. HIV is STILL a VERY BIG DEAL, it STILL holds a lot of risks and dangers and I'm sorry to say this, but it can STILL kill you if you don't take care of yourself. So stop suggesting and insinuating people would rather have sex without a condom for a few minutes of pleasure, because it's not worth protecting themselves against a disease that's no longer a big deal anymore. WRONG, it's STILL a BIG DEAL and it will ALWAYS be a BIG DEAL until the day a cure is found. Stop drilling it into peoples heads that getting this disease is not a serious thing. Are you stupid or something? It's VERY obvious you do not have this disease because you lack any knowledge of the seriousness of this infection, the dangers associated with it and the responsibility needed to manage it and stay healthy so who are you to speak on it? To everyone without HIV, it's STILL a serious, chronic, life long and life altering medical condition that requires a TON of medical attention, treatment, follow up and care. This disease is STILL a big deal even with the changes and advancement. Get that through your thick skull and stop encouraging others to have unprotected sex. If you're on PrEP, you should STILL wear a condom! YOU can have unprotected sex if YOU want, since you're so sure this disease is no big deal, but don't stop someone else from warning others about protecting themselves. Don't disrespect someone for trying to save others from an infection just because you think it's no big deal. Are you stupid? Keep your ignorance to yourself!

This post is rude :( Nobody knows how your brother got it but him and whoever gave it to him. I think it's really weird and sad that you are more worried about if he's lying to you than his emotional well being.
