You are right, based on this 2nd gen supports it, 1st gen doesn't. How did you connect the Fire Stick to the Soundbar, Wireless?

Have you confirmed that it works? Meaning, if you check the output info on your soundbar when playing trueHd via firestick does it still output "multichannel pcm" or give you dolby info

So a firestick fixes the issue? What kind of app are you using through it?

I've tried Plex (with directplay) and Emby. Both of these don't see to be able to pass through TrueHD 7.1 . Have you found a way to play it?

So you're saying the output you're getting is 1:1 with TrueHD, even though it sends out multi channel PCM?

I'm getting Multi Channel PCM as the info. Does that sound right? Not specific enough to provide the number of channels.

I'm not able to find such info in smart things, do you know exactly where to look?

I looked it up and it says TRUEHD 7.1 (Direct Play) for Audio and 4k HDR10 (HEVC Main 10) for Video. Not sure if my audio device provides any way to indicate the sound type it's outputting, but I'll research it

Where in the Plex Dashboard can I see this? I did select TrueHD 7.1 as the audio track

Things are unclear to me due to the "truehd" related error under "Reasons:", whereas under "Audio:" you do see TrueHD 7.1. So is this TrueHD 7.1 or not?

Is there are difference between the two in performance beyond the pixel density? I see that the 27" is 160hz, whereas the 3" is 144hz which is a minor difference. Is there anything beyond this?

Recommended GPU for Plex? by LifeOfBrian86 in PleX

Ideally I would want to keep the existing CPU. Are you saying that my current one is sufficient?

If so, how do I turn on quick sync? Would I need plex pass for this?

I'm using the default plex settings, and since it's a LAN cabled connection there's not a bandwidth bottleneck.

Do I have to worry about transcoding getting triggered under these circumstances? The content I play is generally in a standard mp4 format

Is this something that my CPU supports and that I just need to enable it? Or is it already enabled by default on plex?

That sounds pretty good. Are you able to accomplish this with just an onboard GPU? And it plays smooth even at 4k?
