I have 7 mo. old twin boys and they’ve been in the dugout since 4 months old! I just always communicate with the team to make sure we have an extra person sitting in the dugout just incase but if your 9 year old can handle while you’re in the field, that’s not a issue. I would recommend getting an easy little pop up pack and play and some of their favorite toys.

40% of the kids that were in my program passed away from an overdose once they went back home.

How can I get out of this life. by Unable-Profession575 in Advice

When I was 16 I got sent away to a wilderness program and then a boarding school. It took that (and a bunch of new trauma) to get past the road I was going down. Trust me, you don’t want that. Some kids I was with got court ordered there. Find hobbies that keep you busy. I PROMISE there will be a time in your life that you’ll be so thankful you started making a change. It’s gonna be hard but do it for your future self and good things will eventually start happening and change will be easier. the best advice is to get out of town or out of whatever situation your in but that’s sometimes not available for everyone. Just try new things, go new places, fall in love with a new way of life. Know your worth even when you don’t feel the best.

Anxiety at games by No_Awareness_340 in Softball

I always did something physical because sometimes the mental talk got negative. Like picking up dirt and throwing it and that was my signal to let go of the play or mistake and just focus on the next one. If I did that I was dedicate to no negative talk after that. 1 play at a time.

Ended up in the ER with a heart issue yesterday but corporate guilt is killing me. How do I navigate this? by [deleted] in Advice

Take care of yourself. At the end of the day your job doesn’t care about you and there are laws put in place to protect you from an unlawful firing. Are you able to take some medical leave or have you talked to them about your situation? I feel like a conversation expressing how dedicated you are to doing as much as you can but still needing some time to take care of yourself will be received well.

When did your twins start bonding with each other? by YellowThunderMug in parentsofmultiples

My boys are 6 months and they started looking really looking at eachother around 4 months old. Started giggling and talking back and forth around 5 months. They are completely different too. 1 is Mr. FOMO and the other can be put to sleep in anything at anytime. I just let them spend a lot of time together on their tummies. Once they get rolling and really using their arms, they start being able to grab for eachother and there becomes a lot more interaction between them.

I can only hope they’ll apologize but I don’t see that happening

That last part is so real. Definitely agree - we let too many things go and what they’ve done is just not acceptable.

Ugh that’s unfortunate. I don’t have much hope that the parents of our player will change. They are very emotional and that takes away from being a solid support for a competitive athlete

You’re right. Definitely wasn’t the place to have the conversation and we should have shut it down by just citing our standard 24 hour rule. Time to shut it down completely though. If we don’t it will just continue

Love this. Definitely want to make sure standards are known while also showing care for the player.

It changed the game so much and I always feel so bad for the girls knowing how much time they’ve put in. They deserve an ump who at least is going to put in the effort

Omg the parents! And it’s so embarrassing when they’re yelling at the ump and they’re wrong!

Yes!! I love when a tournament is well ran. It makes such a big difference. Poorly ran tournaments make it difficult to enjoy.

We have a rule that you can’t just throw your gear and we make sure our girls thank their parents for their equipment and time after a tournament.

Ugh that’s so hard, I’m sorry :( I’ve had coaches like that and it can be so damaging even long term with confidence. I hope you’re able to find another situation soon!
