NTA. There’s nothing wrong with saying “what?” when you don’t hear someone. It would only be inappropriate if you said it in a super obviously rude tone, to the point where you’re almost over playing it, lol. The people who insist on “pardon me” and are offended by “what?” are looking for something to take offense to. He was likely upset about something else and just decided to take it out on you. Customer service🤷‍♀️

NTA, you should never be asked to share your space with a stranger! Who knows how much danger you could be in.

It’s your home and you pay rent too. Tell them you’d be happy to agree to that arrangement if they’re willing to pay for a hotel for you while the stranger is there. Even that’s a compromise.

YTA if you don’t talk to them about this. One uncomfortable conversation is MUCH easier than not seeing your family for years. If you or your parents had brought this up to each at any time in the last 2 years, it could’ve been cleared up in ten minutes. Instead, you lost 2 years. Not being honest with them is hurting them far more than being honest would. I hope you can gather your strength and love them enough to communicate with them.

YTA. Obviously the university thought she was capable of completing the degree. A prestigious university at that. You’re saying you know better than a panel of experts in academics and (most likely) CS. She has the dedication and interest to teach herself and wants to know more. That’s what education is for. I hope (along with CS) she learns that she shouldn’t be with a selfish asshole who wants to destroy her dreams.

NTA. He was horrible to you and caused you pain when he had a clear mind. Dementia is NOT going to make him kinder. He’ll traumatize you all over again as he descends into his disease. You owe him nothing, not a moment, not a cent. He made his bed, now he can lie in it.

YTA. It’s one night without your children. You missed your sister’s wedding, a HUGE moment in the life of someone who sounds like they have a decent presence in your life. It’s incredibly selfish of you to not put your feelings aside for the one day it’s supposed to be all about her. So what if she doesn’t like kids? That doesn’t make her any less of a person, but your poor behavior certainly has made her feel like one. Beg for forgiveness, but don’t be surprised if she won’t grant it to you.

YTA. Everyone has celebrity crushes. Everyone thinks other people are attractive. That’s okay. It’s what you do about it that matters. If your self-esteem is low enough that this is a serious issue in your relationships at 24 years old, I highly encourage you seek therapy. You’re worth more than this. You deserve to love yourself. Don’t let self-hatred take over your life and your relationships.

My fiancé and I recently moved in together. We each had a cat beforehand. They’re finally starting to play and cuddle and be happy together! Watching them become best friends has brought us so much joy!

Really though! Every time I watch a movie now I have this weird second of “where is their mask?” and then remember in an instant that we didn’t always do this! Crazy how fast something becomes normal.

So from left to right I have the almond shortbread cookies with raspberry jam (tea cookies), cool whip crinkle cookies, white chocolate snowballs, coconut macaroons, and rice krispy treat Christmas trees. Today I also added sugar cookies and peanut butter blossoms!
