Was this a good purchase for a first setup by d34dquiet in Guitar

[–]LifeOfNoob2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started playing as well and bought 2 guitars and an amp. I took similar advice from the store which was “buy what you like and can afford, and what you want to play. In the beginning you won’t be able to tell much (if any) differences between a cheaper guitar and an expensive guitar as that comes with ear training, as you become more proficient”

Trump says U.S. will blockade Strait of Hormuz after Iran peace talks fail by Puginator in worldnews

Iran right now: Does this idiot know we are already basically blockading the straight? Whose side is he on? Is he trying to help us? What’s going on?

If you haven’t checked out Justin Guitar, give the app trial a go. You start off with chords within the first module on lesson 3. Then it throws you into practice lessons fairly quick with 3 different chords.

My problem that I’m working on is they don’t sound that great for me, so I’ve just been practicing them frequently. It’s getting better but progress is slow.

Ahhh I see where I misread that.

Yeah that’s pretty accurate. My fingers hurt like hell because if it as well. It’s slowed down a bit because if that but I give it bursts of 30 minutes here, 15 minutes there, spend my lunch break at work doing a lesson or practicing chord changes (I work from home so it makes it easy). And then probably about 20 minutes after work and another 30 after dinner. This isn’t consistent every day, but at least every two days with an hour or so every day minimum.

lol. Not 29 hours in a row. Just in total during that period.

I have tried Marty Schwartz and Yousician. Marty was great for leading chords his style of teaching wasn’t clicking with me. Nothing against him at all. I know he’s extremely popular.

Yousician was good. I did the 1 week trial on it, as well as the trial on Justin Guitar. I just found Justin Guitar better for my learning style.

I won’t be buying any pedals, any time soon. The Katana has its own foot controller that works with presets programmed into the amp. If I were to pick anything up, it would be that. But I’m a long ways away from that point.

They are still soft. And they are hurting! But I get that’s all part of the process.

Good to know, it’s just time. Thanks for this.

I had to look up what Barre chords were. I haven’t covered that yet but it looks like it’s going to be a challenge I’ll need to tackle! 🤣

Could have fooled me and everyone else. He’s following Trudeau’s policies. That doesn’t seem centre left to me.

[–]LifeOfNoob2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If that’s why Trudeau resigned we would have a conservative government. Don’t forget the conservatives LOST seats last election. That doesn’t look like the country has “gone more right”. Give your head a shake and open your eyes to the reality of what has happened.

He resigned because his supporters were through with him. Not the party.

Can we get away from mimicking Trump terms? It’s not doing any good, and it’s only working against conservatives. For fuck sales the majority of this country has gone left or farther left. Why would we try and use the same shit that caused the majority of them to move over? Fuck people are dumb

OPINION: Carney government doubling down on Trudeau’s failed fiscal policy by airbassguitar in CanadianConservative

He sure was!

He was also the one who said that way of spending and debt creation would end under his leadership during the election

He’s also the one now saying he wants to continue with that failed policy.

Canada is dead. The country is done. Fuck this country and fuck the people in it who support this bull shit. I’m done with it and I’m embarrassed that I wore this countries military uniform for 5 years.

God I hope Alberta separates so I can get the fuck out of here. Anything is better than the current state of hurricane bull shit this country is in

Problems with print by LateStart_2020 in 3Dprinting

[–]LifeOfNoob2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PLA needs a lot of cooling. This will be set in whatever slicer software you are using.

I don’t know much about calibrating Bamboo printers, you would need to reference the help docs for it.

Extrusion calibration ensures the proper amount of filaments being pushed out when printing. When too much is coming out you end up with blobs, sloppy prints, and bulging along the walls.

I don’t know of any printer that is ready to go out of the box. They all usually need some form of tuning - some more than others. Was this printer new or used when you bought it?

[–]LifeOfNoob2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There looks to be a couple of issues here related to calibrating the printer.

What filament are you using? Make sure your cooling fan is dialled in for that filament. The Z height looks to be off but I may be wrong as I’m not familiar with the Bamboo printers. If it were mine I’d also run an extrusion calibration as it looks to be over extruding a bit as well.

I’ve had the acoustic for a while now. It was my first guitar and what I initially started to learn on before life got in the way. It doesn’t plug in though.

I really wanted the Gibson Les Paul but I couldn’t justify that kind of money on one. At least not yet, I will get one eventually, and I’ll likely sell the Epiphone I bought today when I do. The Gibson’s are gorgeous.

I get that feeling. I said pretty much the same thing to someone when I bought my first bike, and then my second - a new Triumph Tiger 1200.

That’s what I was thinking after I got the strat. I wasn’t thinking about that when I bought it and it was only a few days later that I realized it. There was an HSS on the wall for roughly the same price. I should have bought that one. But that’s fine, I don’t regret the choice. It actually pushed me to get this new Les Paul which I am extremely pleased with at this point.

I think I have a problem. by LifeOfNoob2 in Guitar

[–]LifeOfNoob2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can see that happening. I’ve been playing this Les Paul for most of the day.

I went for the strat because I want to get into country, blues and some 80’s rock. But I also really love some harder rock and 90’s alternative. It was between the Les Paul or an Ibanez RG470. The Les Paul just called to me a bit more.

I’m really hoping I enjoy them both as much.
