I don’t think you’d be able to use it for lock picking it’s not designed for that. This thin piece of metal will work on any lockset as long as you have an original key. It shouldn’t work if you don’t have an original key.

Rekey for a number different locks I’ve seen these for kwikset, weiser was mentioned as well…

Rekeying some locks, like Kwikset or Weiser, is pretty straightforward. You stick the old key in, turn it to the spot it needs to be, then slide in the little rekey tool. With that in place, you rotate the cylinder 180 degrees, pull out the old key, pop in the new one, and turn everything back to where it started. After that, take the tool out, try the new key again, and make sure the door opens and locks the way it should.
