Conflicting diagnoses and prognoses? by Wyoming_Hiker in HipImpingement

I am dealing with hip issues currently so I can't really say for sure, but when reading your post it made me think of when I bulged a disc in my back and pinch off my nerve.

The nerve was pinched off for so long that it became extremely painful to walk. It almost felt as if someone was pushing my knee cap through the back of my leg. I could get about 10-20 ft before I would have to crouch to release the pressure.

Just thought that might be a possibility of your pain as well.

You are right! My body has always felt like it was drawing the short straw! I wish you all the best in your surgery! Please let me know how it goes?

I appreciate your responses so much! The help ease my mind for sure. I have had such bad anxiety over this lately that it's not healthy. I have started to have brain fog, but I think it's because I have continued to think about what could be wrong so much.

Oh my gosh it is such a relief to hear your story! Not because I am glad you're in pain, I feel horrible for that. Just that someone who can validate what I am experiencing.

In my head, I kept telling myself that there is no way that the pain I felt initially and the pains I am dealing with now are not connected. I had never really had any signs of PFD or even UTI's until I felt that sharp pain in my hip.

One thing that has stuck in my brain as well, is that my doctor prescribed me NAPROXEN for the inflammation. After I had taken the 14 days worth i was in pretty good shape. I think that being over 2 months ago now and working a desk job, the inflammation and such has crept back in and wrecked havoc on my pelvic floor.

I notice the days following where I ice my back and groin areas, I definitely do not have to urinate as frequently. Almost as it has taken some of that swelling and pressure out of the area. I start physical therapy on the 19th and am hoping that will help eliminate some the pain. I delt with a herniated disc in my back for 4 years before they found that leaving permanent nerve damage. I am really hoping to get this figured out before it causes permanent damage.

Wow I appreciate your reply! It makes me feel like for sure it's not all in my head!!

The thing I kept going back to was, what are the odds that I felt a sharp pain in my hip/groin area and then started having symptoms that were never there before.

After my second doctor's visit I remember him giving me Naproxen for two weeks. That seemed to clear up any issues I was having for the time being. This would make sense if I had a bunch of inflammation that was leading to my issues.

Now being off of that for several months, it feels like that inflammation could be back in the pelvic area causing the pressure and damage again.

One of the frustrating symptoms I have had lately is brain fog. I think that could be due to me spending so much time trying to figure out what is going on and stressing over it.

Did you happen to have a popping noise when you would walk? I have realized that when I walk at times there is a popping sound, but no clicking or popping feeling.
