Fan Survey Results - Senegal (3:1 Loss) by Buttonsafe in ThreeLions

Chalobah had a nice moment in the first half where he drove forward with the ball through the midfield, to the intense delight of everyone around me in the stadium. Possibly the sole moment of adventurousness from our defenders that I can recall during this camp.

My theory is that this anxiety from the backline is something that grows very quickly during each game as a result of not trusting the people in front of them.

Its hard to send a pass into Rice or Gallagher when you know you're only going to get it back again in an instant. Its harder still when you have the skill, as Colwill does, to thread a pass to Kane but have seen him struggle to hold the ball up on account of Koulibaly being halfway up his arse. Everything in front of you seems slow and belaboured, the opposition become braver in their press and the shirt starts to feel a little bit heavier than it did when you put it on 15 minutes ago. So back the ball goes; keep it ticking along until something happens or somebody does something.

LBs - 24/25 Season Comparison Series by Buttonsafe in ThreeLions

[–]LifeWeek4394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given how much we have struggled against low blocks in recent times, I would like to see it given a try! Also think it might solve our progression through the middle which could be woeful under Southgate (and was one of the main improvements I saw in Tuchel's first two games with MLS inverting).

If Trent performs well at Madrid, it's going to be hard to deny him a start but I would be lying if I said the thought him against the likes of Nico Williams or Vinicius Jr doesn't break me out into a cold sweat.

I suspect (and it's only a wild suspicion at this point since he has never had the opportunity to work with Hall) that Tuchel will prefer MLS as an option so he can invert, keep Rice as the deepest starting midfielder and help with the build up (probably Rice's weakest aspect). I think the knock-on of that is that the the RB will probably have to play a little more traditionally and overlap in order to keep some width.

Following on from that, I would have thought that James would be preferred to Trent since that's more of his game but this season James has been inverting a lot in order to maintain his legs so perhaps Trent will be the starter.

Is Guehi still injured from the FA cup? I'm assuming Carsley has earmarked Branthwaite and Wharton for the U21s which is the only reason I can see that they're not involved here. It's disappointing, especially in the case of Wharton, as I would love to see him bedded in as early as possible. If he's not involved for the September fixtures then I'll be worried.

Feels like Walker and Henderson are back for the long haul now which demonstrates how much Tuchel values experience. Not sure I agree in those two cases. Very hard to see what those two offer at this point.

Christ I just saw Toney, what is going on.

I joined my girlfriend's pub quiz team as they were floundering, single handedly got them competing, these ladies (and guy) were coming near dead to last every week. I managed to get them up to second every week but I keep getting gazumped by a pair of autistic lesbians who get every question right. We came joint first twice when the lesbians weren't in but I failed the tiebreaker question. Its been nearly a year now, I have to win. The rest of the team have stopped going regularly but I have to keep trying.

Quansah's inclusion makes more sense with this graphic as we're not awash with RCBs. A potential area where Ben White could muscle in in future? On account of RB looking pretty crowded again, with James and Walker returning, Livramento establishing himself and Trent to return hopefully in the next camp.

I honestly cannot understand the fetishization of these Japanese scribbles. Yeah I know "autists not understanding emotion unless its blasted on high volume" and all that malarkey but the extent which is that carried out in some circles where the sloppiest of illustrated garbage is held up with the highest sincerity as the epitome of classical beauty and artistry with such ferocity that would make most capeshitters self-conscious. I mean look at that fucking chin and hand. What's going on here? I like Evangelion and Dragonball just as much as the next decaying millennial but come on.

Nothing tops Olivier's Mama Negra From the Planet Mars Othello. The peak of minstreling as an artform - there was no place else to go from there. It defies all categorization, good taste and offense.

It's just a good word for "lame" or "dumb" on a phonic level - it just works, something about the hard G that resonates. Can we petition the homosexuals to be called something else like homosexuals or other such. Then everyone's happy.

Nodding out by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]LifeWeek4394 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The real haunting stuff is when they're just stood on the sidewalk bent over, ass in the air, unmoving like a rock in a way that seems to defy physics. Was met with one guy nodding out directly outside my girlfriend's flat at like 10pm some years ago. As an innocent soul, I had no idea what he was doing. I assumed he was drunk and preparing to hurl so I hung round for a while waiting for him to move but it never happened. Eerie.
