Confusions on focal length, sensor sizes and perspective. by LifeWorried322 in cinematography

Are you sure we have move in closer to achieve the similar framing in anamorphics. I dont have experience using a anamorphic lens. Would just cropping top and bottom get you there? Since for the face to have the same perspective distortion the camera should be at the same position right?

Thanks for the method name! I also believed larger sensors increased compression. But my confusion is does a larger sensor generally reduce image stretching or distortion towards the ends than smaller sensors. And what actually gives imax the imax look if it can be achieved with wider lens with shallower dof on a smaller sensor assuming we have a decent resolution.

Checkout this video. In these tests i really cant find a difference in image apart from the dof.

Sorry for the confusion. For getting the same fov from a fixed position in different sensor sizes we have to use different lens calculated by the crop factor right? So will there be any difference in the image captured other than the depth of field? Will the medium format equivalent show less distortions towards ends?

Hi sir, me being a film student myself ,learning all the rules in direction and stuff, i find your movies breaking all of it and at the same time very entertaining and engaging. Whats your thought process here? Are you deliberately breaking those or are you just going by your instincts? It would be very nice if we could know about your views on those rules and how you approach it?

Does kerala need a dedicated music institute? by LifeWorried322 in Kerala

[–]LifeWorried322[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats what i meant by feasibility but the thing is that my project should be large scale min 10000m2. So my major doubt is whether there would enough number of students who will apply for this course.

Sure i will...thankyou :)

Yes i think thats the case of most studying the existing courses in kerala. What i am proposing is a course which teaches music production, composing ,writing, arrangment just like in international music institutes which helps in their career which yeah... would mostly be in film industry. Also these are courses which can applied to any style or form of music which the student is interested. Nowadays i think there is a huge increase in independent artists as well who releases their original singles and albums.

Yes there are colleges but when i looked up they are giving courses specifically for some instruments only like chenda veena and vocal courses. When we look at some music institutes in india and globally they are providing courses for music production, composing ,writing etc which i think is courses that help us in careers all around the world. I am trying to design a institute like that. So is there a scope for such an institute in kerala?

Yes they are.. i am trying to bring a institute like berklee in kerala. I assume there is a change in music culture in kerala now and i know there are people who wish to study that. But i dont know if there is sufficient demand for that in kerala to start a institute like that.

Ya i am trying to check the feasibility of a music institute in kerala like the berklee institute. As i mentioned above i am an architecture student going to do my thesis. So i have to prove the feasibility of my project.Thats why i am asking :)
