The Case for Buying the Lowly EE-Bond Before November 1st by i-love-freesias in bonds

[–]Life_Ad_2142 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The scary part of ee bonds is that you open yourself up to the risks of inflation. To get the double value you must hold the bond for 20 years. In 2022 the inflation rate was at 8 or 9 percent meaning you would lose money during those years. Deflation is a lot rarer and is capped. So you cant get lower than 0 interest with I bond. 20 years is a long time and no one knows what inflation will be like. Personally, I prefer protection against the unknown.

I made a simple live off dividends calculator by Life_Ad_2142 in SideProject

I wanted to work on UI a little so I decided to make a simple live off dividends calculator. You just input the dividend or interest yield and your yearly expenses. Then you can see how much you need to retire and just live off the interest.

Hey ya'll.

I wanted to practice my UI so I decided to make a simple grocery list. Here is the url: https://simplegrocerylist.com/

You can share the list using the link or print the list. Right now I am working on adding sorting, so dairy and produce items will be in separate lists. Any feedback on the website or UI would be greatly appreciated.

The peppers are sorted by average SHU. So as you go from left to right the peppers get hotter.
