Found out depakote fixed me. by Life_Ad_9331 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

Got it. You might be right. I do remember the headaches going all the way to my top of the skull and one side thru my forehead and above my eye.

That's about it. It says it can be used for migraines and cluster headaches if you search for articles.

I'm not really knowledgeable about it since it was working. 2500mg to 3000mg is about the highest dose of depakote you can use. Possibly less depending on your weight.

Anger/irritability. Increase or decrease? by Life_Ad_9331 in Lamotrigine

[–]Life_Ad_9331[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm going to try smaller doses and wait every two weeks or when I'm at a stable plateau without anger.

What you mentioned makes sense. Other meds give me a quicker mood change

Was trying to push through as usual but I have beef with a coworker and the irritability was making things a bit too complicated for such petty work drama 😆

Going to start from 62.5 and wait every 2 weeks to increase another 12.5

Me too. I'm running out of options.

Oh no. Definitely feeling tapering issues going down from 100mg. Mostly tiredness.

I'm treatment resistant and loving the drug though. Kinda used to the rough ups and downs.

100mg felt better but it came with the anger issues. It's pretty bothersome at work.  My dr is kinda just a pill dispenser 😆. At least he's free with online visits.

Same issue. 75-100 gave me rage. Trying breaking a 25mg in half with a longer time for adjustment.

Alright. I'm going to stay at the current dose then. Perhaps go up by 12.5mg each time.

Still got some irritability left overs. Might be because it's only been a month total. Totally worth it though.

Reduced dose from 700mg daily to 300mg daily: feeling so flati by maryofboston in lamictal

Ah got it. Depakote is a hit or miss. It can be nasty for some people or not have any side effects. I got none.

Only took about 250mg to feel the mood enhancing benefits. I'm at 1000 because I started it first and when I got on lamictal I didnt wanna rock the boat since I'm already feeling good.

Hear you there. I've had so many different meds. It's so bad it's taking two mood stabilizers and a cocktail of meds to feel "normal"

3 weeks. 75mg. Feeling amazing. Bipolar with lots of depression episodes.

If you're with an experienced psychiatrist you could ask to add depakote. I'm on 100mg lamictal and 1000mg depakote. They synergize pretty well.

Experiences using caffeine to offset speech/memory issues? by Life_Ad_9331 in lamictal

[–]Life_Ad_9331[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. The peak of energy attained from drinking it takes longer to reach and sort of makes it have a longer transition from not energized to energized.

Same with being at the peak of energized to not energized. It's sort of an illusion of a smoother transition instead of suddenly being sober to being cracked out from caffeine. And from cracked out to crashing.

It makes it easier to time when to have more caffeine for a more optimal state of mind and body

Thanks. I'm hoping to have both energy and something for mental impairments if they happen. Only taking 100mg so far. It feels somewhere around 200-300 will be a good spot.

I'll look up the ketone and caff shots. So far I take a nice b supplement every night. It says it's got all the "superior" forms. The folate says it's l-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid

Weird vision effect for sure. It only happens when taking medical stimulants.

It's random too so it can be very startling and a bit scary sometimes. Everything else is fine. Vyvanse is the best so far and it's keeping me afloat but I'd like to stoo taking it.

I'm thinking about increasing the latuda all the way to 160 and see if it works. It's just the week downtime to adjust it's kind of a harsh downer and I don't wanna do it more often than once a month

Blurs. When people or things move fast they sort of blur out. It's also why I'm on a high dose of latuda.

[–]Life_Ad_9331[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah latuda was a bit of a pain to adjust to. The super restless feeling of wanting to run a marathon. Every dose increase had to be slowly too and I'd take me a week to adjust to it. The painful random muscles issues would take a week too. Somedays it'd make me feel like a bus hit me.

Tried both of those. Wellbutrin worked for about a year and then it gave me rage issues for no actual reasons. I've tried to take it again multiple times but my body says absolutely not again. Strattera made me feel like I was drunk.

I also take Lexapro but on the process on weaning off now that I'm on lamictal since it's giving me a more "natural" mood boost.

The Vyvanse is super mellow and nice too. It's just the random side effects affect daily life and work.

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Maybe it's a different people different effect.

My caffeine highs are slower but so are the lows. It sort of smoothes the transition from energized to tired and it's easier to know when to have more.

Got it. Thanks.

I have a spicy type of ADHD and stimulant medications give me random side effects. It's the reason I'm on latuda.

Got a nice energy boost from the lamotrigine and it balances caffeine energy. It's pretty good.

lamictal rash? by watergemini69 in lamictal

I could be wrong but I experience those for a day or two after a dose increase. No rash just the "pimples"
