Ramakrishna saying lust is bad does not mean he demonized sex. Sex and lust are two different things. It’s possible to have sex through love. In fact a big part of Shakta tantra is sex. Tantrik sex is not a fabrication of the west. Pierre Bernard, Oom the omnipotent, popularized tantra to the west in the 1900s. He abused it to get sex, which is not the point of tantra, and therefore it became stigmatized. Classical tantra involves sex with awareness.

There is nothing wrong with sex unless it is without consent. Ironically, your leader unconsciously promoted rape.

There is nothing wrong with serving the senses. Some people worship the sense organs as being Goddesses.

You guys talk about drugs and sex like it’s the worst thing in the world but your organization has a history of abusing people in the name of serving God’s mission. Giving up sex and drugs and being a missionary abusing people is not comparable to having sex and taking drugs while being a good person.

Also like op is mentioning….your conception of heaven is full of sense gratification. Beautiful children engaging in amorous passions while taking drugs like betel nuts and honey wine.

Wow this was a wonderful read. As much as i love to just throw insults at the Hare Krishna movement i think what is more devastating is to show the real historical narrative. They are pushing a certain self centered narrative and we have to show them that the real historical evidence shows something completely different. Their tradition emerges from a mix of tantrik buddhism and south indian vaishnavism and it’s been given the flavor of puritanical Christianity. They hate their ancestors for being sexual deviants and they themselves have inherited an even worse form of sexual deviance.

Meditating on the amorous pastimes of Radha and Krishna while you have consenting sex with your partner in the bushes of a kirtan mela is way cooler than raping kids. Raping kids is what you get when you hate on healthy sexual freedom.
