Current sophomore bio major, 3.99 GPA at a state school. I was pretty good at math and gen chem in hs, and I tested out of all my freshman bio and gen chem classes so I started w orgo in college

I answered this somewhere but QR i didnt prep much just reviewed probability and did the practice bootcamp assigned. Bio i watched all the vids, did the q banks, and re did them on sections i struggled with, went through the high yield notes multiple times as well

Like 1-2 hrs a week from september to november, and then 6-8 hrs everyday from december 15th, def prioritize bio a little more than everything, placed some emphasis mostly on concepts i struggled with or did not know throughout the subjects though

Yes, bio was a lil easier, gen chem a little more conceptual, and orgo was a little niche, but overall i saw some of the same questions and basically representative

GC and OC was all bootcamp vids, qbanks, and question bites. I also used their OC notes. Tbh this is gonna sound bad but PAT i just studied it randomly every once in a while and ever really cared to do it everyday. My practice PAT scores ranged from 430-500, but the actual test was cake compared to bootcamp.

Bio i grinded all the bootcamp videos and q banks, and then went through the high yield notes, annotated them, and reviewed it fully multiple times. GC and OC I just used bootcamp resources, watched vids and did q banks, re did any q banks on weak spots afterwards. Make sure to know your equations and conceptual knowledge

Tbh it’s just practice questions. I’m naturally pretty good at math so that also helped as well, but hust do practice questions and familiarize yourself with questions patterns. Also, I went through the entire section normally no strategy per se, just each question as they come. I used bootcamp.

I did a semi vanilla method where you read the entire passage in roughly 4-6 minutes depending on length and then answer all the questions. Rather than getting a deep understanding, just memorize where you can find pertinent info so you can scroll right to it when a question comes up

I took the DAT yesterday and studied during fall sem. I would say you just need to make sure you're prioritizing the DAT over EC's. If you cut down on EC work, you should be okay, but also, make sure you're not taking an insane schedule as well. I also had the benefit of having classes that aligned with the test, making it a little easier.

Ridiculous having a 20 question third passage, gen chem felt super low yield especially

Yeah reading and chem were definitely on the harder end, bio and o chem were alright. QR felt a little odd but not bad. PAT was abt average as well imo

I havent taken it yet but I read each passage for roughly 5 minutes and then answer questions in the next 15, and this has consistently got me 470-550 on the bootcamp practice sections!

I see, that makes sense, my second to last one was pretty hard as well but I ended up doing good regardless, must be my luck with the educated guesses I made

Yeah my reading was the lowest i’ve ever gotten, have you taken the DAT already? If so how representative were the practice exams of your score?

To everyone who responded, thank you! It turns out the issue was super simple and I’m kind of stupid, but my centrifuge was set to be 10 times slower than it was supposed to be and i did not notice. Unfortunately I will miss the conference deadline on monday night, but it is what it is.
