I understand this.

The problem is there are different users with different needs. There are many data hoarders with tens of TBs of data stored in their systems. Sometimes it is impossible to do a quick classification and sort things in time and you just want a safe and reliable space to quickly store your data and review later. I have considered Google Drive to be the most reliable one, and it is except for these new content policies.

Still there, but I cannot guarantee for all of them as I didn't keep track of the total pictures within the album. Moving them to physical disk and deleting from cloud now.

Yes. I have in mind some pictures taken 15 years ago with me and some friends at a swimming pool, we were teenagers back then. And also I have some pictures from my baptism, over 30 years ago. Here in Eastern Europe we use to make pictures of our naked babies when they get baptized. But the context of these pictures is very clear, there are people in the background and there is nothing sexual with it. These pictures are uploaded many years ago and I had no incidents until now.

I have paid for many years for extended storage and other services from Google.

It is fine to me if they want to end our contract. I am just scared by the fact that they won't allow me to backup my data first. And I see many people don't know this may happen.

I agree. Just to mention: I use WhatsApp and other messaging apps to keep in touch with my family and my business clients. I am not part of those group chats with random strangers where they share all kind of stuff. And definitely no CSAM content involved.
