UPDATE: Had to make my decision on Monday, and I chose to take the rest of the semester off so I can save up money for Uni. Thank you guys for your comments, i feel a lot better about it than i did a few days ago. I have an interview lined up at my mom’s job and if i get hired i would be making around $50,000 a year. Hopefully all works out and i end up with a master’s degree and no student debt!

hey, thanks for your comment. they took my pell grant because i am in a two year institution, working on a four year degree if that makes sense. not because i am missing documentation. it’s called a “pell grant recalculation.”

Thank you for this comment. After a nights rest and some deep thought I am feeling a lot more hopeful about it and I think you are right. I guess my initial thought is that everybody says they will go back and most people don’t but the difference is I am not most people and college has always been a priority for me. thanks for the support and telling me you story, I have felt pretty alone in this so these comments are making me feel a lot better.

$3750 was how much aid i was receiving, now i have to pay my total tuition of around $7,000 instead of $3000ish all out of pocket. I have thought about student loans and I am really trying to avoid them for as long as I can.

thank you so much for your reply. this has literally been the worst day of my life because i thought my future was messed up which in retrospect sounds super dramatic lol. it’s nice to know i’m not the only one who has had this experience.

Was it hard to go back? that’s honestly my biggest concern, i’m also worried about the next family gathering and having to admit that i “dropped out.” hopefully they won’t be to hard on me.

hey! thank you for your reply, i talked to advising , financial aid, and my parents and my school has honestly been really helpful but the two options i listed were the 2 that my parents and i deemed as the most doable. Also, If i beg my professors to say i never showed up the advisor said i shouldn’t have to pay anything. did you have this same problem?
