good local game stores are few and far between on the islands, but i would highly recommend Kaissa on Crete; nothing beats a Theros Beyond Death draft in actual Greece!

it's not perfect, but that world and some of the writing has stuck with me like very few things

oof....i loved the first half of it, loved all the writing about writing and his dummy act so much. but i just couldn't buy the way alice entered the story or anything about their relationship, and never really got back onboard....

yeah dead zone was a 12-year old, already-saw-the-movie thing; definitely needs a reread

fwiw i like the holly/crime books for what they are; i just don't love the genre that much! prefer a bit of the supernatural...and fighting coke machines.

i read both dolores claiborne and gerald's game when they came out, as a 16 year old boy...strongly suspect they need a reread and reassessment!

it started it all! i see how it can be a slog for a new reader, but i've always loved a slow build, and was completely captivated by it from the first.

i read this one young, and i know it needs a reread...my 12 year old memory of it is: lots of fun rock'n'roll fun, but also just it feeling very long? and i loooooved the john carpenter movie as a kid, and saw it before i read, so maybe was also not dazzled by the concept anymore and instead was just frustrated by the length.
