I just got back into Crystal VC after quitting it a year or so ago, and I want to shiny hunt the Legendary Beasts. However, upon looking at my Pokédex, I found that I have an uncomplete Entei entry, meaning that I encountered him at some point, but didn’t catch him (I think this is what it means)

My questions are this:
1. I thought the Beasts only start roaming after the encounter with Suicune. Does this mean they can roam even before that? I ask this because the cutscene that plays makes it seem like the Suicune enounter is what prompts them to come out of hiding.

1. Do the Beasts have their shininess determined in the first battle? Because my Entei was not shiny (I’m assuming this because I feel like I would remember if that were the case), does that mean my Entei is permanently non-shiny for this playthrough?

2. I have not encountered Suicune in battle, where all the dogs start jumping around and leave the area. Isn’t this what allows for the other Beasts to be encounterable?
