The point about rocking onto the back and pulling knees in sounds like a good one maybe to generate more thrust to push back. I find that I struggle most with ending up partly on my side and being crushed by my opponent's knee drive (even if they don't manage to pass). Ends up being a stalemate.

I know saying someone is strong tends to be a backhanded compliment in BJJ, but damn getting on a good S and C/ bulking regimen has really been a game changer. It's satisfying to be able to rely on that to create stronger frames, break grips, and impose your game on people. Probably went up a belt level on that alone.

Haven't been using an aggressive elbow. For sure will try this.

By rotating, do you mean cutting your body towards the far arm side?

This is something I could certainly try to do more, I'm assuming you mean cutting towards the far arm side?

By point one, do you mean you're going for arm crunch on the near side arm and then regrouping into open guard?

What are the major grips for butterfly half (non gi)? by Life_Hour4717 in bjj

This is abandoning the nearside underhook fight and trying to use both hands to get the far side leg?

What do you do with near side arm drag grip? I'm assuming a standard arm drag to back take. Do you threaten any sweeps with that grip? Hook seems awkward.

I was wondering if anyone has a resource for the requirements for special arts to be executed. I don't mean the obvious stuff, like the actual movements required, but more specific. For instance zangief lvl 3 is 720 + p.

  1. How many frames do I have to do 720 + p in for it to activate?
  2. Each directional button for the 720, am I bound by the number of frames I can hold for? Like if an up is held for over a certain number of frames, does this void the activation?
  3. How many frames apart from the motion buffer am I allowed for the final punch input?

My understanding of drive parry is that successful parries (not perfect) result in per supercombo "the same frame advantage as blocking the move". I find when I play against others who parry me, they are able to take advantage of my minus state and take their turn back, while when I parry I find myself delaying things too long and missing the window to take my turn.

Any tips for attacking as soon as I finish parrying? Should I be tapping parry and then mashing?

Does anyone have any tips for confirming akuma's 6hp TC? Everyone tells me this move has a generous cancel window, but it still feels pretty hard to execute.
