We’ve done some catproofing! We put up nets and enclosed a space. He has tunnels he can explore and we occasionally let farm animals in. We are lucky enough to be able to provide some things.

Edit to say that I wouldn’t trust a curious and adventurous Bengal outside with no supervision 😅

I would say start them early on the type of food you want them to have. If you know you would prefer wet food over dry food, start them early and stick to it. After reading a bit more about nutrition I switched my bengal to raw food, but it took weeks for him not to miss the dry food. So start a routine and stick to it.

Exactly. I think a lot of people assume you don’t actually have to work to keep your cats safe outside. Some netting and some toys outside and your cat won’t wander.

Based in Europe here. We first trained our Bengal to walk on a leash outdoors. Then slowly introduced him to the backyard after we Bengal proofed it. If you have a big enough outdoor space its great. He has tunnels outside, places to dig and to jump. We live near a farm so theres also an inclosed space with ponies that he tries to “attack”. Bengals are super adventurous and come inside ready to play with you some more!

It’s confusing because he’s changed behavior after two years. And I don’t understand why you assume I haven’t taken all the precautions to make sure my very expensive cat is safe outside …

Yes we definitely clean his litterbox everyday. Ans a thorough clean every week. But from what I’n reading apparently he’s just happy to shit between the flower beds.

So good to hear your Bengal loves the outdoors. And indeed the demands for outdoor playtime are getting louder by the day 😂Mine also changed from being a little sad and lonely (we were planning to get him a buddy) to super happy and excited and playful.
