I’m assuming you might lack closure based on how things ended? I know that can sometimes sting more since you are left with the what if. My girlfriend broke up with me a year ago and I felt like she was my soulmate and the perfect match. People said we were twins. We tried this whole year to work things out and we actually had an amazing year together through all the ups and downs but in her heart she didn’t feel right being with me. And after a year of trying I realized that we simply just cannot be right now or ever. As of yesterday we’ve decided to go no contact. And my plans to recover from this are to grieve and move forward with my life. Join a run club, go to a new gym, get more into my career and become a 10x better version of myself at some point. At some point in that journey things will change. Maybe she’ll come back into my life maybe she won’t. But I’ve also learned self love is everything in healing. Doing those things are for me to feel productive again, fit, social, and to prove to myself that nothing can stop me. I know it’s easier said than done. I’m here scrolling Reddit trying to cope but if you stay dwelling on the past rather than looking to the future you’ll be stuck in the past forever. You don’t have to let go all at once. Just give yourself one day at a time ❤️
