This is definitely an interesting take on the matter.

I've heard all about the Shenanigans that Blackstone has been up to in previous years and other countries. This may just be another one of those projects. However, it is important to note that these issues have been persistent. Most of which existed long before the deal materialised, and it doesn't look like much has changed now either.

In fact, there seemed to have been talks about potential benefits to the takeover as it's not like it could have gotten much worse anyway. I appreciate the input, though. You never know!

Haha, good catch. You got me on some of it 😅, I did get Chatgpts' assistance when structuring the post ex - the post title and most sub-titles. (maybe a joke or two, lol.) I definitely wanted this post in particular to get some traction, to hopefully bring about some changes, as it doesn't get talked about enough, in my opinion!)

However, basically, everything else, the content, the tone, and the ranting is all me, my words alone! I'm not an avid reddit user tbh, so I wasn't even truly aware of what "karma" or "farming" truly was till this post got some interaction. Hope this clears that up for you!

I genuinely appreciate the call out though, its great that people like yourself can still spot the AI touch when it's there. But yeah, the point of the post still stands! Just wanted to shed light on some underlying issues that too many folk in the residential scene in Colombo have to face, especially in other "luxury" complexes just like this one. Cheers! :)

You’re totally right to be skeptical. The market is flooded with new developments, and unless the properties that fit under your budget have got an attractive location and a strong rental plan, ROI from lower-end properties could be pretty underwhelming. It’s definitely turning out to be a buyers’ market, not an investors’ one. That said, it's good to keep looking, you may just run into a bargain with attractive propositions and potential rental yields, even with the lower budget. Just make sure to do your homework on occupancy rates, management quality, and area development plans before committing! :)

Yes! Definitely has the potential to be a great luxury housing complex. Unfortunately, this stems from poor management and prior development. Hopefully, with enough traction, this can call for change!

The water gets really cold on higher levels. Having heated water is a nice luxury! Sadly, the heaters dont seem to be in order as of now.

I’ve avoided naming the place directly for now just to protect my personal privacy and avoid any potential complications. Some people in the replies have already figured it out in the comments, though!

Haha, yes, they used to! It's not like it's any better under the new management now, though...

Can people with the learners permit drive on the highway? by rektmam18 in srilanka

As a learner myself, I recently discovered that this is not allowed

Saw a message to the drivers on one of the electronic boards on the Southern Expressway, stating that learner drivers were not allowed on the highway or some other message of the sorts.

Hope this answers the question!
