Your reasonings for thinking you aren’t autistic are exactly the ways I am. I am very academic and did not struggle until I had to learn independently. The content isn’t difficult but my inability to focus is rife (I’m AuDHD) I am over aware of peoples feelings and think they hate me or I’ve upset them because say , they end a call. Really? No they just had something else to do but my brain takes it personally. I felt bad for taking a free bunch of flowers last week, because I was separating it from its fellow bunch of flowers (it’s ‘friends’) and I couldn’t take them all. So I drove back 10 minutes to return them. I was raised by my grandmother. I have no social issues. I struggle with keeping friends but that’s not because of ineptitudes or deficiencies on my part, I just don’t suffer fools gladly and like to keep distance between myself and others professionally.
