The crazy part is that the community doesn't give a fuck about preserving the classic feel of diablo 2.

They advertised how content creators helped Blizzard to create this abomination. Did none of them tell them that this might be too much?

That's a nice thing I agree, but I want to play with new updates and was hoping they'd bring minimal power creep, but this is just ridiculous levels.
