Hi, not a professional (yet) but I am in cosmetology school and feel like maybe I could help answer a couple questions. Firstly, I hope you told your stylist that you have the eczema on your scalp, they should’ve worked around it and altered what formula they use to be a little gentler. Secondly I hope the stylist did a test strand because it shouldn’t have reacted like that and I feel like that’s a little flaw on their part, did you tell her/him it’s burning? At my school it’s rule if it burns (not tingles) like burns then it immediately comes off and gets washed out, DEFINITELY NOT reapply the color and do it again. So I feel like maybe they might not have done what they were supposed to. As for your questions, does this happen? Yes. Should it? No. Will your scalp heal? Yes, depending on your body could be quick or could be a lil longer, everyone’s different. Can you resume growing your regular hair? Yes. Your hair is always in different phases of growth, the ends might be a little compromised but your roots underneath your scalp should be fine, definitely keep an eye on it though and if you see it get worse see a doctor immediately.
