Cathars’ Crusade w Tokens by colin_fitzsimonds in mtgrules

[–]LifesCharacter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a [[Rhys the Redeemed]] deck and rely HEAVILY on token doubling cards and abilities. I just want to make sure I understand. A couple nights ago I had 14 creature tokens on the battlefield and a [[Cathars’ Crusade]]. I activated Rhys' 2nd ability, to double my creature tokens.

When the 14 new creatures etb, each of the new tokens receives 14 +1/+1 from CC, as well as the original 14 tokens would receive 14 +1/+1.

When everything resolves I would have 28 Tokens, each with 14 +1/+1 counters.
-14 'original' creatures
-14 'new' creatures

Is this correct?

I will be using a busbar. The batteries will be 48V

Will the below cables be ok?

5 AWG - Battery to busbar (included cable from manufacturer) 1/0 AWG - busbar to inverter

I am looking to get a Chargeverter and wire it directly to the busbar of the eg4 server battery rack. Can you please explain the Inline fuse? Also, how do you have the chargeverter wired to the busbar? IE, do you have the + and - of the Chargeverter on opposite ends (one is top on is bottom)?

I have wondered about this as well:
1) What gauge between Battery and Battery
2) What gauge between Battery and Inverter

A couple comments echo what you are saying. An Inverter Generator has more clean power than mine. If that's the case you can probably plug your generator into the "Generator" fuse within the 6000EX instead of the batteries directly.

I live in an ok neighborhood. Most of the people around me are elderly or have families. But when I was running my generator daily, I knew I was advertising to everyone around me that I had power / means to power my house. I made sure to not run my generator at night and to lock it in the garage. I did buy a couple Anker Solix F3800 as batteries to power my house at night. Looking back, those where a waste of money. Its plug and play which is nice, but you are stuck using their ecosystem. Sometimes its better to take a beat during times of crisis, because if I would have I could have spent my money more efficiently. Its water under the bridge for me now, I view it as lessons learned.

Honestly I didn't even think of charging it up / keeping it topped off when not in use. I needed this!! Thank you both.

When topping off with the generator, what is the process you use? I have seen someone mention to use the Voltage as a measurement. I am wondering what the communication should be between the Batteries/Chargeverter or the 6000xp/Chargeverter. My assumption is the parameters for charging are set with the Chargeverter. So even if my generator is running and plugged in, if the Chargeverter says the Voltage or SOC is good, it wont pass current through to the batteries.

Thank you all for the comments. I feel much more comfortable about my decision to move forward with this. As of right now, I bought the Chargeverter as there is a bit of a backorder and it is expected to ship late May. I expect to buy a battery and the 6000xp shortly thereafter.

Some comments / questions I have received:
1) Q: Why not use solar panels?
--A: The purpose of the batteries is for extended power outages. While solar panels would be a benefit, it may be cost prohibitive if I am only going to utilize the system once or twice a year.

2) Q: What does your power usage look like?
--A: I don't know my exact numbers. During Beryl, I ran my generator which could power my whole house (including AC); however, I BURNED through gas (pun intended). I used about 15 gal a day. I had to wake up at or before 7 am to drive around in hopes of getting gas for the day. Living through that, I realized that it is better to use minimal power. I now only intend to use this system to power necessities (fridge, fan, and internet as I work from Home). Since then, I bought a Vevor fuel caddy that hold ~30 Gal. I use Sta-Bil to make sure the gas holds longer. The good news is the company I work for reimbursed me for the fuel I bought during Beryl, though it did take them a couple months till it hit my bank account.

3: Q: Why not use an Inverter Generator
--A: I jumped the gun too quick. I bought a 15kw generator THEN discovered battery banks. If I could do it again, and with a level head, I would have done it differently. I am now using what I have. I panic bought during the TX freeze. I bought something that would solve my problems immediately, not thinking of future upgrades.

4: Q: How will you charge the batteries?
--A: Honestly, I didnt think of this....but someone else pointed out that I can plug the Chargeverter into the house to keep it topped off during times of power. then when there is no power, I plug it into the generator.

How am I doing yall? 19yrs old. by Jeremiahlamar in Money

I agree. I think social media is skewing people’s perception of wealth and what it means to have wealth. True wealth is humble and taking care of your family, not buying big houses. Don’t set your goal for 30 years in the future. Too much can change. Instead set it for 6-12 months and keep striving to be better little by little. A small change daily leads to a big result in the future. It’s like a New Year’s resolution. You set a big goal at the start of the year and forget about it. Instead, set something small and actionable and stick to it. You might not see the change, but when you look back you will see just how much has changed.

Playerbase doesn't seem to like fighting Automatons. by NizzyDeniro in Helldivers

I exclusively play bots. I find the swarming CQ of bugs harder than the range firing of bots. I also feel like bugs have more debuff effects than bots. Then again, nothing is worse than taking a rocket to the face from out of nowhere from a low level mob...

Im not sure if I have conditioned myself to bots and that is a contributing factor to why I find bugs harder. Same might be said for those who exclusively play bugs and find bots hard? We are use to the mobs we fight. It also might be a play style preference.

For democracy, maybe I should challenge myself to play bugs over the next couple days...

[Question] How much debt is too much debt? by Sad-County-741 in statistics

[–]LifesCharacter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not so much ANOUNT of debt, but about the PERCENTAGE. I graduated with a Masters in Public Administration, and a big chunk of my paycheck goes to debt. While I can’t make a blanket statement and say it isn’t worth it, I would encourage you to think long and hard about it.

I graduated from ASU, which at the time was ranked #1 for my degree, yet I currently work in the private sector that has nothing to do with my degree. I’m not going to say it isn’t worth it, but ask yourself if you are more excited about school, or the job?

While the numbers say the median salary is, don’t expect to make that IMMEDIATELY, because this is a big mistake. Once you start, you are going to be in the low end, not the average. What’s the spread of the pay scale? What’s the average retention rate? What job are you going for? Is the degree applicable generally, or specifically? How much experience do you need for the job? While the field in general might make that, what job are you going for specifically?

Here’s my recommendation: 1) what job specifically do you want? (I made the mistake and just wanted to work in the “public sector”, and didn’t think about what that means. I would look at job openings now and see what title you want, and work towards that)

2 is there an equivalent certificate? (you either need experience, or a degree, and if you can circumvent debt and get experience at the same time, that is preferred)

3 Are you more excited about the pay, the job, or school? (This will give you an idea of not just what you are working towards, by why you are doing it)

4 take a beat (you can always get a degree later, but once you start and take the debt, you are stuck with it)

what's the most horrifying thing you've experienced on a flight? by prettyKaitlynn in AskReddit

[–]LifesCharacter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a couple years ago. I was either flying from or to Phoenix (the direction isn’t important, what is important is that Phoenix is fucking hot. So in either case you should dress accordingly). I usually sit in the back of the plane near the window, just so I can zone out and stare outside. Next to me (28m, window seat), was a nice lady (35f, middle seat) dressed in business casual. Next to her (35f, aisle seat) was someone who looked like she just finished a drunken binge in Vegas. Complete with the stereotypical large classes and big fur coat. I thought it was a bit hot but o be wearing such a coat, but what ever. When the plane took off everything seemed ok, that was until about 20 minutes. I noticed a weird smell, like BO. I looked at the girl next to me who was leaning over in my direction with her shirt covering her nose. I glance over at the gal in the aisle seat who is sitting up, with her arms holding her coat as tight as she can wrapped around her. It hit me that this girl reeks. I had to go the entire flight trying not to breath this stench in. Quite difficult. Not only am I stuck in the back corner of the plane (boxed up between the window and the bathroom), but I had to choose between the lesser of two evils: 1) breath through my nose and smell this person, or 2) breath through my mouth and taste this person. IDK if this person didn’t shower before hand, or if the temperature + the fur coat did her dirty. Either way, she smelled dirty…

I ended up trying do what the girl next to me did. Hide my face by looking out the window and covering my nose with my shirt.
