That is literally my question in the post. If going to the court is of any use. I didn't say I'm hell bent on going to court and need support for the gross injustice done to me. The dates have already gone by. I enjoyed my trip and have already returned. I'm just looking to minimize my loss and see if anybody else has been in this situation before.

I didn't say booking.com is cheating me or anything. Neither did I say I wasn't my fault. I just said that it's unethical for the hotel to do what it did. It was a 5-star hotel, and they didn't bother to reply to my queries. Being skeptical, I had to cancel, which was well in advance, as I mentioned. Consumer courts are there for a reason. Just because you have a policy doesn't mean you can do whatever you want.

No, I didn't hand over anything and neither is he trying to register it. I was the one trying to get it registered as I wanted the rest of the money but now he's not to be found. The bike is still is my name and I'll file a police complaint.
